Why do you gals wanna join the police? Quite a simple question, eh?
Are u interviewing us? lol
great to see some interest stirring for SPO applicants...
wish u all success and hope to see some of u folks soon... for the girls, time to start some physical training to prep for life inside
hey
im new here...just wondering do u guys have any idea what
is the average waiting time from the selection assesment to the
psychometric test?
blur cat, u went for both already right? how long did u wait?
Hi Dumbo, i went for both as well, and they smsed me the day after the selection assessment .My psychometric test was sched abt 3 days after the selection assessment. Hope that helps u. Did u just went for the selection?
i went for the selection about 2 weeks ago where they took all the certs and stuff plus the physical assessment. been waiting for the call since then. when did u go for the selection?
I went for the selection on 2nd Feb, got the call on 3rd Feb, and went for the psychometric test/physical assessment on 5th Feb. Maybe the waiting time is shorter for mine coz they only did document verification during the selection, and scheduled the physical together with the psychometric.
whoa...thats fast. i only did the verification and phsyical assessment. they told us the psychometric postponed after we done with the assessment. hoping they can call me up soon...even if is rejected. so that i'm not left hanging halfway haha
so which stage are u at now? or already signed the bond?
I just went for the panel interview last thursday. Now waiting for them to get back to me. Yah, waiting is always the hardest part. Have heart, hope u make it thru the nxt round.
yeah thanks. hope u go thru as well =) all the best
Dumb0, replying to ur question abt waiting time....
For me, it was...
Selection Assessment (verification of docs)
3 days later...Physical and Psychometric Test
25 days later...Dialogue Session
23 days later...Clinical Interview (Psyhologist meeting)
.....still waiting for Board Interview.
Hope that helped, no point feeling anxious and fretting over the waiting time, it is a long process. Have faith in yourself and good luck!
Hi, I was just wondering about the number of overseas degree graduates who applied as an SO and who managed to be successful in being recruited by SPF. Are you guys overseas educated or Singapore educated?
@blurcat... thanks they just called me up regarding the postponed psychometric test. will be heading down coming week.
@Vic Lee: im studying overseas degree. from other threads, i've seen that quite a lot of applicants are also foreign degree holders. i think it doesnt matter as long as they are recognised degree, not from some shady institutes =)
Hi all,
i recently applied for a senior officer post.. but was rejected 3 days later. wasnt even shortlisted. Im abit lost now as i've always thought of being a police officer and how i wanted to serve the community, preserve peace etc.. But seems like i've lost my hope now.
Hence i hope you guys can kindly tell me under what kind of condition will they reject you even before interviewing you. Its really abit sad to be rejected even without interviewing you.. hope u guys can give me some advise so as to prepare myself to apply again..
thank you...

Hi,
I did my degree with RMIT in the SIM campus and I am now in Australia doing my honours. In terms of credibility of degree, will I face any problem? I want to join the police force and I'm just wondering. Anyone did a similar thing? RMIT-SIM deg recgonised?
You must indicate you already have your degree already under the latest qualifications from Career@gov. Else they will just take it that you only have diploma/Alevels and will reject you outright.
That was what happened to me, but thankfully they selected me then after that during the 1st round asked me go home change..
y r u all joinging the police force???? Sign on with SAF and be senior officers in SAF lo... Which enemy do u think is more difficult to deal with?? thugs and hooligans in a small country who dun even possess a gun or professional soldiers from another country armed forces with all the sophiscated weapon????
LOL
In singapore,
Which enemy do you think you''ll more likely and frequently encounter for REAL?
Thugs and hooligans or "professional" soliders from another country?
I am currently a SO trainee in HTA. Like you pple, I applied for the position last year successfully (probably with some help from the forum). So if there is any concerns or questions, feel free to ask. Will try to answer to the best of my knowledge if possible.
is passing ippt at recruitment stage a must? cos im actually afew cm away from passing only.. but haven yet updated my ippt result. so im not sure if tats the case y im rejected.. or can u kindly advise me wat to do for reapplicants? so that i dun get rejected again? but for sure im working on the 9cm to pass my ippt before i reapply again..
Hi Kyze.
I would like to know the ratio of your trainee mates who got in with a degree from SIM compared to local U and overseas on-campus U.
Thank you.
@ Kyze,
1) Do applicants need to pass IPPT during the application stage? What does the physical check up consist of?
2) What is the percentage of SIM deg trainees in your squad?
Hi Kyze,
do you know what is the most likely salary drawn by SO trainee (uni grad with 3rd Class Honors) doesn't have a driving license?
Is there such thing as a trainee pay and then another pay raise after passing out? and finally last question, when you are in different departments (investigations etc) you get different amount of allowance?
Sorry to bombard you with these questions, hope you can shed some light for me, thank you very much. If it is to private to reveal (esp salary) you can PM me too.
Thank you!
