I applied to be a SPO and just got e sms today to go down for selection assessment...

I just applied 2 days ago and wonder how long will it usually take to receive the notification for the selection assessment. When did u submit your application? through online right?

It normally takes 6-14 days for the 1st sms you will received when you are selected or shortlisted for the 1st round of interview.

easterngal, I applied on e 18th this mth online. (took 10 days to receive first sms).
I did it on impulse.....hehehe ;)

A lot of ppl there, I was pretty surprised that almost half were gals.
I m actually v keen on gettin e job, but i got interview phobia. hai...

hello new here, I am currently through to the Final Board Interview already..
Just a question, does anyone here know whether there is yearly pay increments for signing as a SPO like those coporate companies, or we will draw the same pay until our rank is promoted?

easterngal, I just went for the physical assessment and psychometric test today :D A lot of ppl sia....wonder how many they recruiting....hmmm.
rigaku, congrats!! how many rounds of interview did u get thru wor?? from wad my bro told me, civil servants all gt yearly increments de leh (he work in SAF)

There are 4 rounds of interview that you have to go through, so I will be going for my 4th soon, supposed to be yesterday, but I had something on so I had to shift the date to March and still pending confirmation.. After which if you clear, you will be left with a IPPT test (I think) and a doctor to certify you are fit before receiving your Letter of Offer.
Anyway, yup my friend confirmed for me that there will be yearly increments =)

Isnt that the psychometric test and physical examination?
Today is my 10th day of application already and still no sms. Getting a little bit worried.
I wonder if everyone who fulfils the requirement will get the chance to go for the first round.

No worries lar when i applied i waited for around 3 weeks. Trust me, if you fulfill their criterias your interview rounds will fly by, you can conclude within 2months (that's what they told us if we don't have any postponements)

easterngal, my first round just document verification for half day....second round e psychometric test took half day already, den physical assessment after lunch.
rigaku, March ar. gd luck !! gt IPPT test de wor?! OMG, wonder wad is e female std for IPPT anyway...hmmm. but who knows, i probably wun even get into tt round. my psychometric test score shld be pretty lousy.

easterngal, the recruitment officer told us they have intake EVERY month, so I think not that big per intake right..? for SPO, our training not really mixed with PO.. maybe some stuffs are same or something like that..
Blurcat, I think the IPPT for girls is maybe fashioned according to something like NAPFA? hahah. Cos guys' IPPT don't have sit-and-reach anymore, so I also can't advise much on this.
Usually if your verification of documents and physical assessment round can pass (no tattoos, police records etc) you shld be able to enter into 2nd round. Cos when I reached the 3rd round, the psychologist pointed out to me that I claimed in my psychometric test that I previously owned firearms and I was shocked! hahah. In the end it was a typo.
They wont jump into conclusion with that test I guess, else I'd be already out.. No worries, let things takes its course. They will most likely get back to you in 2weeks for the round 2 or the (dialogue session)

Are the both of u working now? I'd better try to come up with many excuses to take leave if shortlisted haha.

I think what they do now is they split the verification of documents and psychometric test. I went for the verification and psychometric test together in early Jan 2010 but that time we ended quite late so I think they want to knock off on time so I think maybe that's why they split it up.
everything else in your list shld be the same after point No2.
Im still studying, its also quite hard to be missing school and stuffs, that's why I had to shift my Final Board Interview all the way to March because I have tests :(

eastern gal, tt process u listed out is correct. I rather they do both in e same day, gg down 4 times is erm....bad enuf. splitting up the first two just made it even more kua zhang. hai...
I am working full time now, and cannot take leave de. Sian dao...hopefully the next round can fall on a day i dun need to work (I work Wed ~ Sun). :D

Does anybody noe if it will have a negative impact on your current application if u previously withdrew your application due to some reasons?
And also if u're selected again this time, do u have to go through all the 5 rounds again or can skip certain stage.
