next week onwards starting shooting...abit kan jiong coz nv handle revolver before...any tips?
you will shoot until sian, fingers bruised etc. be prepared for the "night shoot" , you will see many disco lights in the range
i remember the 'kan cheong' feeling i had b4 my first time. u'll find that pulling the trigger is quite hard. to make that simpler, u gotta train ur grip strength of ur shooting hand. another thing that may come as a shock is the loud sounds from the shooting. very easy to get used to it. to get good scores, make sure u use ur non-shooting hand to grip ur shooting hand tightly so that u have a steady aim. if using laser, dont close one eye to aim. leave both eyes open to see where the laser is at cos thats where the bullet is supposed to land. once u master this, getting marksman is simple
good luck
Cool tips there... :)
Any reason why spf opted for a revolver as the service gun?
Why not a magazine-loading semi-auto?
Revolvers may be more powerful and have less misfires (or easy to get over with that)... But the thought of a gun without a safety lock is scary.
Imagine a sick guy standing next to you (maybe at a food court, ordering food, waiting in the queue...) getting hold of the gun: Nothing to stop him from firing a bullet.
aiyah..
force yourself to breathe deeply and slowly.. when you're about to shoot, point revolver at target, breathe half a breath and hold, stabilise and aim properly (and quickly), squeeze off
hold the revolver firmly but gently.. do not grab and squeeze and hold it too tightly.. that'll mess up your aim, cause the revolver to shake and the recoil will tear up and bruise your hand and trigger finger...
repeat...
btw.. i've not shot the taurus.. i was trained with the .38 S&W.. should not be any different
