From Blah blah blah.....
hi!
VSC is having a recruitment drive this coming sat and sun and wish to invite all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents between 18-45 years old to join us and find out more about volunteer police. Pls circulate to friends who might be interested to find out more.
We are showcasing 11 divisions which one can choose to go to after completing training at Home Team Academy.
see you on 4th July 09 at 11am!
I forgot to paste this vital information:
Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC) Recruitment Event
VIVO City Lobby B, Level 1,
4-5 July 09
11am to 9pm
not all will get in.
I remembered applying and went for the interview at Police Cantonment Complex. then they send me a letter to thank me for applying.
I understand every intake is about 20 VSC per squad quartely. However more than 200 ppl will apply for each intake. So the odds in getting in is abt 1:10.

Who provided you that kind of statistics???
Am I that rusty? I remember intakes with 70+ persons forming 2 squads at least reduced to 20+ passing out.
And the best passing out has three squads, in the 90s.

haha, seriously, who tell you one ah? Or did you pluck numbers out of somewhere?
Some VSCs are direct convert from police NS who just ORD. Is that part of your VSC application and success rate?

U need to know that out of these 200 ppl who applied, there is quite a signigicant number that did not turn up for the psycometrics test.
Anyone signed up during the roadshow? Any reply yet?
I went for the psychometric test a couple of saturdays ago...Goodness, there are so many applicants..When I saw the attendance list pass around in the auditorium is almost 150 people!!! I think I will join CD Aux unit instead....
Have faith lah....
We all do VSC as a passion, or fun, or whatever you think your mindset is tuned to.
More people, just mean more friends to make, more kakis to talk about life, gain experiences about life & generally eat snake 'officially'.
Did I ever mention that most folks after joining VSCs, found that its easier when they have the excuses to their wives/ girlfriends/boyfriends/mistresses......they are busy on duty and incommunicato?
How can you say this huh?, later you need to edit again...if seen by...... 1st, 2nd, 3rd para is ok, not the 4th la...

I always thought that VSC is a cold activity but I was rather surprised by the turnout at the Cantonment Complex. I can see that almost all or most of the applicants are really interested and they took the assessment very seriously. They come prepared with things such as clip board & own stationery etc to take the test. Ther are aslo quite a number who came to re-take the thest.
Even if I can make it into VSC, at least I have feel assured that those who join VSC are those that really have the passion.
The topic - VSC training, did you edit a lot of posting? Yes, right... That's what I mean....
what do you do in the VSC unit?

Just a normal shortlisting exercise ie, psycho test, documents checkk etc...but the turnout is really fantastic...close to ~200 candidates...so just imagine the squad size per intake...
I applied for this VSC last April, Take Exam last May, Interview last June, Take Medical last July. But until now no news to them about the result. I emailed them but still got no reply.. If an applicant is rejected, will he received any rejection letter or any notice saying "im sorry blah blah".. or not contacting you is well said enough that you suck and definitely not their type.. just want to clarify.. thanks and best wishes to those who are IN...
Yes, there will be blah blah blah...letter to you should you not be selected.
meaning i still got chance right? hmmmm..... I wonder when.....
took the phy test in nov 2009 but failed. wonder when i can reapply again?
Typo, is 28 nov 2008, i heard can re-apply after 1 yr, dunnoe is fr application date or date i failed my phy test?
If you felt that your failed the application is due to your physicals.
Then there shouldnt be a date when you can reapply.
As long as you got yourself physically qualified to join. By all means submit your application again.
