Medical Check Up

Hey all, I went for the medical check up today and my blood pressure is above normal but is just mild hypertension. The staff there at the clinic said if the result is sent over, they will reject my application as police officer. Can someone confirm this? Thanks!

i was there also... did the staff tell you at the main recep desk? i think i heard it.

144 and 85.. Is high right.. That means i have got mild stage 1 hypertension. Do u think i can explain about why the result is like that due to some reason?

Really ar? lol. there were quite a number of police candidates there on the day for check up as well.

144 85 abit high. but is it because u too nervous? ask them to check until u are ok ma if u really dont have this HBP before. some pple check at home the pressure is normal. but when go to clinic is high due to nervousness or others. so wad is the standard Blood pressure reading for raffles clinic? did they tell you? anyway good luck for your application

sometime back i went for medical on my own, my BP also a tad high...
my assessment test thsi weds, hope i can go through for interview, meanwhile will be on stricj low fat, low salt diet, no caffine, and more exercise

It might just be the tense atmosphere or nevousness that causes a raise in your BP and when you take it while you are calm at home, it is back to normal.

I was super calm and steady at the point of the bp measure. I think is due to insufficient sleep and some more i ate curry chicken the previous night before i went for the check up the next morning. Hopefully the police there will call and ask me go again for the bp measure.

means you get more excited and nervous when seeing a doctor, causing your blood pressure to go up when they check your blood pressure therefore showing signs of hypertension although you don't have hypertension actually.

no anura. wad I means wad last time I check my bp at my family clinic the doc say mine is 140/80 quite high. so I go and buy 1 blood pressure machine home to check. my pressure was normal. after that. everytime I go to the doc, my pressure was normal.. so did the doc tell u wad u can do?

oh.. The doc ask me to wait for the call from the police.. Maybe got follow up on this issue.
