My friend told me the Istana Police is Certis Cisco Polis. I tot Cisco uniform change alr, how come uniform and crest still looks the same as SPF?
Is this true? how come they so special?
There are significant changes to Certis Cisco and other Auxillary Police Forces (APFs) uniforms. Some noteable changes are
Belt (while SPF still have their black leather belt, Cisco have changed theirs to brown)
Cap bagdes and collar lapels ( SPF ones are embroidered while Cisco have metallic ones)
Uniform, (different shade of blue)
Peak caps (one brown band on Cisco peak caps)
They are still special because of their APF status, meaning that they are authorized to provide armed security officers to government organizations as well as private companies. Another know APF is Aetos. And there should be another 1 or 2 more APFs ...
If I am not wrong, Cisco guards are only a supplement to the police officers whom are also guarding the premises ...
i wiki-ed it up... some intereting things to note?
While the new uniform was implemented across the company, some officers tasked to perform specific roles were exempt from the change, in particular those involving provision of security for sensitive locations or personnel, such as the Istana, the Supreme Court building and the private residences of VVIPs. Close resemblance of the old CISCO uniform with that of the regular police has allowed the latter to outsource sensitive roles, yet providing a visual impression of continued police presence. This practice was thus continued at sensitive locations despite the introduction of the new uniforms.
