Hey guys, i am previously from the ARMY during my NS time so now that i've signed on for POLICE, i have a question.
What am i to expect when i Sign-On for Police SOC? My PES status is A and i have SIlver for my IPPT.
I am hoping for some very detailed answers if possible.. thanks and appreciation in advanced for your time :)

same lah, JO=PO.
SOC not good as 1st posting cos u wun see anything there. rather u go NPC and u will see alot of things. however, its all personal.
PES A or B no difference at all...IPPT gold or silver oso no difference. they will train u.
u got to drop the army mentality...go through ur training then decide if u want to go SOC or go NPC.
SOC is not really a place pple want to go, especially for regulars. NSFs wanna go cos got extra 150 allowance.
If u want fast promotion, u got to go investigation branch, to go there u better have some basic/intermediate ground experience, something SOC can't give u.

thanks for the reply Belmont! True enough that there are reasons as to why i chose SOC, that's why you said "it's all personal". What i just don't get is the "you got to drop the army mentality", care to elaborate? feeling confused here.. lol..

ooOOoooOOo.. bad news, like everyone else, i'm getting the 'postponed' sms! :( so yeah, uncertainty befalls me and now i'm gonna have to wait.. and if i have to wait like "bunny" did.. which was like for 7 months.. think i'm gonna have to pick another job. Gosh, 7 months to wait is impossible since i have a family to feed. *cross fingers*

poor thing. i started to hound them on the confirmation since last weds. and they finally replied me on friday evening with the confirmation.
my intake is on the 13th too. and signing bond on 11th, which is 2mrw. finally. waited slightly more than 1mth frm interview to appointment. my 1st interview was on 16th April. received medical on 20th April. frm then, its waiting for appointment....damn effiencient i would say. and the best part, i applied for it on the 3rd of April....

well, that's great news buddy. I've just received a call yesterday saying that i will receive a letter by tomorrow. :( can't be waiting forever......

JJxJJ....yalar. wth. police recruitment damn screw up. why cant they just wait until there are enough people then throw all in at one shot why must every week throw a handful people into HTA. so little people already yet they still can delay some people's bond signing. very disappointed.
i heard next week got 4 CNB trainees joining my squad. still, not enough to start a squad. sigh. FI said need at least 17. now training will be 7mths instead of 6mths. Now we are tagging along R5 for lessons. Which squad are you from?
how was thursday night? heng for that 'minor' incident. if not we will kana big time frm OC Bravo...

.. Im from an NS squad ... take a look at one of the PES BP squads if you have the chance, im one of the light duties for now

alamak...tht means u duno what happend on thursday night la. and i know u have seen me...so easy to spot.....a squad with 7ppl marching ard HTA. who also can spot...even NSman on course also ask us how come 7ppl only. All the FIs also 'shock' to see 7 ppl...

eh...quiet? no leh. all R5 girls are super noisy and hyper...where do u usually seat?
good thing recruitment centre suddenly throw another 23 into R6 so we can start the course proper! phew...this wld mean, R5 and R6 might pass out together...you guys only started 2weeks before us.....

eh.. im quiet leh! =P i take longer time to make frens i guess.. during d police annual dinner event yest did talk to few R6 gals.. feel tat easier to talk to compared to some of d gals in my squad.. >.< lol!
fyi, R5 been ard like a mth frm d time i join in 30 april.. so i nt too sure we pass out tgt or nt.. n yay.. gt off today! lalalaalaa~~

haha, well, you go on ahead, my luck has just turned out for the worst, after waiting patiently for 2 months and told to buy necessary items and wait for the intake, as of today i received a letter of rejection.
i literally got so confused by why this would happen after being asked to wait for so long, i just resign myself to fate. WTF.
