as above, i'd like to inquire whether it is legal to make an office space into a place for people to live in; it ain't a shophouse..just an office space to allow 9 people to live in. Any regulations for this?
I'm not asking for a way to go about it.
There's just this place which i am rather suspicious about living in it. There are white boards dividing the entire office space into sections for people to live in.
I don't see how this is causing you agony and why it should be in AA at all.
AA is not an information counter and you are better off asking this in chitchat or some other forums
seek landlord approval...
currently, i am living in such a place. I'm not a singaporean, hence, i'm not sure of the law. The landlord doesn't give me a legal contract. My previous contracts have a stamp at the signature part but my current contract doesn't. The landlord doesn't even give me the real the contract. Therefore, i am rather dubious about the ability to live in an office.
Its depends on the property.
If its a private office building, then its up to the landlord and building management to decide.
If its a JTC office building, its not legal to rent out the place as a living quarters. If its the staff living in the office because of sensitive goods and date and security purposes, the management company will usually close one eye.
Otherwise, you are better off finding a real bedroom to rent with a landlord owning the place.
Hey it doesnt sound legal to me...
As a tenant, it is also your right to demand to keep legal documents...
If you are not sure, contact HDB to find out more.
Go do a google search on "HDB". Housing Development Board.
Thing is. If in doubt, dont accept the conditions.
