Hi all I just received call from police.

Saying that somebody has lodged a complaint against me for vulgarities. At 10 freaking pm? Up until now I never thought that this complaint can even exist. Is there really such a thing? Thoughts, anybody?

if in doubt, tmr go police station and ask the officer to check the police it system for the records. -
I think might be scams. I dont think police will call and just tell you those and at 10pm somemore. You have all the rights not to answer any questions tru the phone.

Yea, i'll demand the police officer to go up to your place and tell it into your face straight, ignore whatever he had to say and slam the phone. If you sound fierce enough, either you scare off the scammer or you find 2 MIB at your doorsteps already..

But usually, the police will just ask you two things. Come down to station, or that they are coming to visit. Most of the time, it is come down to station.

If they say they are police, ask them to show u their ID card!!!
For goodness sake, the mata should know better and they should show their ID without asking them.

Which mata never show you their warrant card? over the phone, the best they can do is tell you to go to police station, confirm is police. -

The police should know its not a good idea to call people and claim they are police.
Picture this scenario:
Police on the phone: Hello I am Officer X calling from NPC, someone has just complain about u bla bla bla.
Guy who answered the call: Oh yeah? If u are a police then I am your grandpa!!!
(hang up the phone)
Can the police blame the guy? No~~~ At the very least the police should show up at homes then its better.

good suggestion, if you have caller ID, probably you can call and double confirm.and, next time dont use too much vulgarities :D

Neighbourhood police post only got 1 guy, and they are there for admin only. all call is from neighbourhood police center.

The police called your home line. Your handphone?
Which NPC you are suppose to go down to make your statement?
If the fella tries to tell you to send money to settle your fines. By all means go down to a NPC and make a statement against such scammers.

I once recieved a telephone call at 1am (YES, 1 am) from a police officer. Apparently, my bro (who was using my dad car) has blocked somebody else car.
I asked the necessary questions before allowing her to proceed. Well, i think they would rather relax, rather than calling someone at 10pm or 1am for that matter, for such trival issues. It is their job, but it is also our duty to ensure the caller on the other line is really a police officer. If something sounds fishy, then as stated before, go down to ur NPC and check it out. -
BTW, 10pm is still considered early.
Police officers work 12 hours shifts and is on duty 24 hours a day.
Even administration officersor investigation officers, though is working office hours, are actually on standby 24 hours a day.
