Hi everyone,
I need your help with something...
Singapore police clearance takes 14 days to process! I thought in Singapore, just a click of the button, and you'll have all the information you need. My questions are:
1. How come it takes so long to process this? Other countries take 5 days max.
2. What do they need to check in order for me to get cleared? do they need to check out all the companies that I have worked for in Singapore?.. banks?.. telcom companies I have dealt with?..
I am just wondering why the process? It's so UNLIKE Singapore. Can somebody help me understand?
Thanks ya' ol!
because if they say 5 days, and they are busy and took 14 days, not so nice.
so say 14 days.
what country take 5 day one? why not go there?
i need the Singapore police clearance since i have lived in Singapore for more than 6 months.. and before i can migrate to other countries, i need to get this clearance.
Any of you guys have the idea what they check in 14 days?.. i'm a bit bothered i want to process my visa ASAP that's why i'm in a hurry.
i believe
the place which u applied for the clearence will be able to give u more details, u may also wish to stress the urgency of the issue.
by the way, what clearance are u applying for and where u apply?

Sounds to me like you applying for the certificate of no criminal conviction [CNCC]. Am I right to say this?
If I am not, then take it as this is for general knowledge then.
But I if am right, do read on...
Unfortunately, how and why the department involved [Criminal Investigation Department] takes two weeks to process your application will not be able to be explained to you. These are internal practices, governed by the Official Secrets Act. Only known by those who do the relevant screenings.
Some added info on this particular certificate:

No problem. =) Usually, people will only enquire about the CNCC because they are about to migrate, because it is usually a rather serious matter, and there aren't too many instances whereby people are required to produce a CNCC in Singapore.
But nevertheless, I hope that the links will help. =)
