Hello all, I'm a Year 2 student studying at Singapore Polytechnic this year and i'm looking forward to joining SPF after completing my NS and obtaining my Diploma. I'm really surprised to find this forum actually, because everyone around me seem to be dissuading me about joining SPF, saying that the pay structure isn't good and the job is dangerousm and here it is a forum dedicated for SPF officers wannabes like me.
I know a deskbound job is not for me since i was young and i have always wanted to join SPF after my graduation, I've been wishing i would be placed in SPF during NS. Is there anyway of doing that?
And if not, what is it like for entry into SPF after NS? (the entry requirements, interviews and fitness criteria.)
I know alot of you here would be able to answer me, thanks.

if the passion is there, then join.
the pay structure is enough to keep you warm and fed, but not if u wish to drive mercs and stay in a bungalow.

My advice is dont join just beacuse of passion. Cause passion will die off one day. I just used to be like him. But now I had already left the force. See too much already. Life inside there is " Darkness" esp when you know too much stuff.

after NS is a 2 year bond.
he can go satisfy his passion. if not
signing on for the 5 year bond also can.
