Hi guys, i just received an email to inform me to go for the psychometric test on the 7 of feb. May i know wat will happen during the psychometric test. Is there anything that i need to prepare for the test. How can i do better during the test.
I had apply for VSC during one of the roadshow as i had always want to be a police officer. Then i decide to try out the police work as a volunteer in my uni life before signing on.
Another question to ask you guys. I had a partial A level cert as i have fail my GP in my A level. However, luckily i was accepted by NUS into faculty of science in year 2009. I was wondering if i sign on now will i be able to continue my studies or i have to serve the police bond first before i study or i study with police pay and go back for training during my vacation. is i advisable to sign on now?
As i have fail my GP, i doubt i can apply for SPF scholarship. is there anyway i can apply for SPF scholarship? Thanks A lot
Anyway, Happy Lunar New Year.
Kevin

Firstly, no advertising here ...
Secondly, see u there
Thirdly, i think this thread will be locked soon, there is a similar VSC thread here ... U might want to read it up.

I dun think u would stand a chance for scholarship. As for the signing on part, I can't help much. Maybe others will give u more insights. IMO, it might be better to sign after u grad, though intake for SPO is quite low. AFAIK, unless u r a scholar, i dun think u can half-study, half-train to be a PO at the same time.
Lastly, Happy CNY
Thanks A lot! you will be going on the 7 of feb too? You are already a VSC?
Hmm, what do u think?
Anyway, the psychometric test will actually show ur knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and personality traits. There's no way to prepare for it or do better.

If you are already in the uni, signing on now just mean you have to forego your remaining time for the uni, till you finished the training and worked at least a year or so before you can pick up on the uni studies again.
Recommedation is that you join the vsc, learn what is needed before you consider signing on as a regular.
Hey,i am informed to go for the psychometric test on 7March. I am curious about what I may be facing then..anyone able to tell me some stuff that i may be expecting then?
I have no idea why I replied like that in my earlier posts.
TS, for VSC, you can do your training and do your studies at the same time. VSC training is afterall at night. And you can tailor your VSC duties to days/nights where you are available to do duty.

Some maths questions, some neither right or wrong questions, some reaction questions.
Be sure you are well rested to take that test and dont rush thru it like some folks has done and now live to regret it.
Be there early, have a bottle of water handy and at least a bun to beat your hunger pangs prior the start of the tests.
