With the glooming economy, having an iron rice bowl is a factor to consider. together with the many bonuses and recent pay rise, a career in the police force is looking to be quite good.

normal people in corporation/ civil promote rather slowly....

sorry.
im refering to JOs. yeah. the JOs promotion rate are slow. and frm what i observe, most of the timme, the first two numbers of your pay is around your age.
the promotion rates for SOs are fast, esp those on LMS and Overseas scholarship.

what welfare/benefits in SPF is better compared to corporate world?
for my department.
we have monthly HLS/In-service. its different from land division coz im frm a staff department.
we have our fruits day, Recreation training time, good facilities within the compound such as gym etc. my own sub-departments holds our own birthday celebrations, JO-SO sharing session n stuff. so it was quite a wonderful experience
im still 18, ORD few weeks back from the force. now working in a SME, so the benefits/welfare is still not very adequate. so i felt that my time in SPF was better in terms of benefits/welfare.
