hi hi
need advice ah...
My neighbours from time to time quarrel loud loud at home, with their door open. It's some kind of sibling fights (between one elder bro in his NS and one younger sis still in Sec Sch). Actually, not really from time to time. It's like once a week, machiam like got quota to meet one, every week must make noise. When they quarrel, they should very very loud. I usually have my door closed and windows shut cuz I now live in a corridor unit and need privacy.
A few nights ago was really bad! I was in the living room watching TV, as usual with my doors and windows shut. The bro shouted very loudly this time (usually, it's the sister that shouts louder) and suddenly I heard a very very loud bang, followed by a vibration on my floor, machiam like earthquake. It was past 10 pm liao leh!!!
In situation like this, can I call police ah?
TS, you can try the police but no guarantee they are willing to help. I have a number of encounters from ill neighbours making noise at night. Police instead of helping created trouble.
The recent case happened a couple of weeks back and this time was nuisance from the China Chinese playing sports at such late hours and talking loudly. The police though said will send police to help but nobody appeared as usual. I had to go and gave these inconsiderate china chines a piece of my mind. Police in sg are more interested to help the govt than the citizens.

thanks but most of us have no trust in our MP. I really don't know what is happening to the police. If it is not meant they help, I would appreciate the governement appoint others from the govt service to help us the nation.

write letter to PM. wait.
Of course! That's what the police are for right?
after 10pm yes
call the NPC nearest to ur house.
make sure u exaggerate the situation by 10 times.
You can call the police but chances are most are attending to more serious cases or is also called to 20 other noise pollution calls...
You call the police alone is not very effective here... Most they can do is show up then the noise magicly dissappear for a while until the police leave...
If you really want something to be done, call Town Council after making a police report and they'll set up a mediation session...
who working in town council after 10pm?
town council will say, we oni do area cleaning and repair spoilt lights in corridors.
neighbours make noise not our taiji wor
Might as well call my MP make housevisit.
"eh Miss Phua, my neighbour damn noisy leh!"
MPs work after 10pm?
About 2 weeks back i went for this you know dinner where everyone gets a table have dinner and bid for lucky items, Ms Phua was the guest, and she only arrived after 1015pm.

Why not just go over and tell them about it? I don't think it's a good idea having to call the police up for such issues especially when you both are just living side by side.
Can call police, but be prepared for problems from the neighbours later on.
People are always very sensitive, they quarral their business, but police comes, they will immediately gang together to suspect the neighbour and make the neighbour lives difficult later on.
the police can only come one time, not constantly at your door preventing things to happen. so if you call police, make sure you dont try to peep thru or get caught looking at the police visiting.
If the noise went after midnight, then the police can mostly state something down and have the town council people goes to counsel that neighbour family.
Midnight being some sort of official time for all noices to cease.
And yah, its true, after police go away, these people may start quarralling again. So not much point for police to come.
What happened to the good old days when you could just dial 999 when you dont feel shiok about something? Its is the police duty to investigate any complains and look into domestic violence (if there is really any)

Mr Wood, I go by proper channel, called 999 for the public nuisance, waited but no police came to help.

From my experience if you call 999 they would respond in minutes but if you walk over to the police post you have to wait long long.
