Hi guys,
Through the subject, you might think that i will ask about Navy stuffs which is not related to the Police Force, but i would ask another question which is similar but for the Police Force.
I have been receiving letters from NAVY and airforce asking poly students to join their scheme(Joint Poly-SAF diploma scheme, or whatever) as their servers and receive benefits from them. But i did not care about them due to no interests on their scopes.
Came to think of that, i have not heard of, or received any this sort of letters from Singapore Police Force. I would be glad if they have this scheme as i have more interests and passion towards being a police officer. Had thought of signing on to SPF upon poly graduation but it is still 1 year + away. My friends suggested me to check out for schemes(or what they thought, a scholarship) from SPF, whereby we will be signed on to SPF while in our study and upon graduation, we will be admitted straight to SPF.
So, if any kind people here with knowledge about this could tell me more about it, i will appreciate it real much.
Thanks so much.

well, unfortunately there is no equivalent scheme in the spf to the army-polytechnic sponsorship.
you can only apply to join in your final year, to facilitate your application to join once you graduate.

U dont need to serve NS...so U can just apply to SPF and see if U can get in...just like any other job application.
Unless U are looking for SPF to pay for ur further studies?
to Xcert,
Nope, i don't really need them to pay for my studies or so, i just hope that i could sign on earlier to SPF so that immediately after i graduate, i can go straight to their training and start my career after that.
I am still studying, so i dont think that i can apply now according to Tiggerific?
first rule of police force... if in doubt, source the answer from the primary source.
http://www.spf.gov.sg/faqs/career_po.htm
now go read and investigate.
I am not very interested too.
I am in poly now, and they sent me a privilege card. I don't know what to do either.
i have seen it many times but they doesnt answer my questions.

that is the answer. want to join spf, do it after you graduate. if you really think that there is a scheme, email or call their recruitment hotline. that will be the primary source.
ohh okay. I am just hoping if there are any ways to sign with SPF first then join their training upon graduation.. It's okay if there's no. I just had to wait for another 1yrs+ . I have been waiting to join SPF since my first application in early 2007! =.=
why don't you try the VSC first? give you a first hand experience on how police work, and will have training for you too... think of it as training in advance bah...
i tried last year but couldnt get through the psychometric test. =.=

the pychometric test results will stand for 3 years...
yup.. thats why i continue to pursue diploma, which is 3 years. haha.. after that will apply again.
oh. good luck 2 years later. i think the police is looking for people with moderate views, not too extreme good or evil... that's what i think of the pychometric
Okay thanks. Maybe i should build up my english also, as during the last test, i dont really understand what it was asking about.
that 1 specialist
useless
officer more pay
wrong. minister more pay.
so by your logic, officer also useless
if you are gng to uni why not sign the SPFO??
although poly student stand very slim chance.
jus giv it a try as spf might b your passion.
