hi, thinking of signing up VSC, one question here:
During that 9 months training period, can I skip one or two lesson? Bcox due to work or personal commitment that I can't guarantee I will be available thruout the entire 9 months.
If we're allow to skip some of the lesson, any make up lesson? And will I pass out within the batch? THX...

Dude,
The VSC is an organisation that will understand your 'real life' concerns. It remains a volunteer organisation even though it is uniformed. This means the VSC will understand work and family have to come first. The same in training. However, you can imagine there are certain elements you MUST attend. Not passing IPPT will mean you are not allowed to join any division and stay in training until you pass. For shooting for instance, obviously you must attend and pass before they will give you a gun. Simple right? So if you miss it, you must come back at a later date. For other classes which are less critical, if you miss it, there will not be any catchup, you just have to study the notes from your classmates, so you will still pass the exam. Please note however that each course has a minimum required attendance %, which is reasonable but it means you have to be sensible too about how many classes you can miss.
The key for me was to study the schedule, make sure you don't miss exam dates (miss those and that is a real pain) and book work trips when there are no exams or key classes to attend. -

Lolx, i just received a call telling me u guys just recieved my medical report. I didn't know it takes so long to receive one report ... Anyway, still nothing is really confirmed till u guys send the letter, which means, i guess i will have to till for another 2 mths or so ... Hopefully, the earlier it starts, the better ...

Next VSC Recruitment Roadshow will be 23-24th May 2009 at Sunshine Plaza.
Do take note that I have received verbal warning that information I have posted contravene with the Recruitment's Unit's whatever policy with the PHQ MPD policies.
Request that mods be removing all those threads that is related to VSC.

I hv given VSC interview on 10th May, did not hear anything from them yet? On first day, they told it takes around 1-2 weeks or does it take longer too?

Yes, sometimes, they do take abit longer than usual ... Note that they are also volunteers too.
