from your age, i will assume you are a girl. train your grip by squeezing tennis ball, seems like this is important for you to be good at range.
And also train to pass your NAFTA test.
Hey thanks! Anyway, does anyone know the shortest route to HTA from NUS via mrt/bus? Or die die have to take cab/walk there? Hahas
Oh I'm in the sept 1st batch! (:
yay! see you week aftrer next! What i do is walk to telok blangah road take 188 to chua chu kang, than 172 to HTA. helps if you live in Temaasek/Eusoff hall like i did.
When i stayed in hall, I cycle to dover MRT, than go chua chu kang interchange, than 172.
Really tedious, but not much choice. Heard that there are several NUS trainee, so you won't be alone!
Ooh ok! So are there any nus batchmates of mine lurking here? lol
Oh yah, forgot to add that they might be the november batch
Aiya. Hopefully they are in my batch!! :D
Next recruitment briefing on 25 Aug ...anyone going?
Are you going for that one? this is just the beginning of a series of briefing and recruitment stuff that you will need to go through before you start training, so hang in there!
Oh ...you are based in the HQ....can I ask you some questions
(1) Taking 25 Aug as first briefing, when do you see the whole recruitment process complete.(
(2) When will the training starts?
(3) Will they be "speeding" up the recruitment process?
(4) Lastly, previously they gone thru an exercise to promote graduates to Snr Officer, is this no longer the practise? Why? Change in policy or not getting the desired results?
Thanks
finally...found this forum with so much useful info....from reading the threads..it seems that some of u guys are VSCs yourselves or regulars...
any of u guys here are VSCs in TP or regulars there maybe?
I am very interested to serve as VSC in TP but im not sure how the posting works..
for a given intake...roughly how many will get posted to TP?
would very much like be able to do the typical TP duties...patrols...roadblocks...traffic control for events...my mind is dead set on geting TP...but then it may not be easy to get in...haizzz...
getting posted to TP directly is not an option now, but posted to a division to gain experience before going there. After half a year, you may request to be posted to TP, but you will need to complete police driving course first.

For graduates, they do get promoted to snr officers, but this promotion will be given only to commited people who perform well. if you only clock the minimum16 hour per month and don't take it seriously, unlikely to promote, as Snr oficer need to clear 24 hours per month and holds key position in the police.
there is no direct senior officer course, if that is what you are asking. only for regulars.
thanks for info....too bad there is no direct posting now like u mentioned...was thinking that the posting is more flexible...
anyway not my luck i guess...
That's funny, I know of lots of fellows who are in TP VSC but do not have QDL / PDL.
And directly from pass out.
Anyway, TP VSC is tough. Firm action will be taken should you get into even very minor accidents with police vehicals and private cars. This will hurt you in points with your civilian licence as well. So, think twice.
Having said that, as there are no many SC in TP. They need the support of VSC officers for the many events through out the year.
Only step forward if you are up to it.
As for Cheesecake, welcome to the VSC.
Training will be rather tough, usually it will be PDT training if you went on 1st Spt you would already have seen the OC.
This should be a intresting and fruitful module.
I am based in tracom. We'll see if you can figure out who I am...
Whahahahahahaah
All posting is edited due to warning by VSC Recruitment Unit's Head that the postings are confusing the applicants.
Or confusing for the Interviewers.
during the 9 month course, must wear uniform?
along the way, if many trainees drop out of the course, wat will happen to the rest? will the course go on if the enrolment gets too low?

yes. yes.
hi all....i was thinking for those applicantswho have medical historys(eg. back pains during army times but now its ok), will VSC still accepts them or totally got no chances at all?
can the applicants request to be unarmed but still joins VSC?
clearing my doubts....
