What is the best way to check? Sign up online and indicate on the form? Or call them up directly?

Just submit teh form and indicate that you were a ex vsc, from which intake and when did you leave vsc. they will reply you by mail or during the interview.
Thanks for all the quick replies...Appreciate your helps !
Anyway, I really regretted resigned from the VSC, should have requested for leave during that time due to work commitment. I hope I will be excused from training....or a shorter training :)
Hi guys,
I´m interested to join the VPC corps. But, I´m a regular.
If I wanna join the VPC is it possible? I´m not attached to any unit, as I´m currently on study leave, scholarship scheme. And I ain´t got anything to do during this period of time, as I wouldn´t be called back to camp, so I thought of joining the VPC. Possible?
Do I have to notify anyone or anything? I have yet to send in my application. As I do not know if I need to notify first or apply first.
And I have got one last thing to ask, which is, if I were to be recruited and finish the training, do I get to choose where to go? Like TP unit or like riot police or what? Like uber cool lah. HAHA.
Thanks in advance!

yah, you can apply.
yes, there are army regulars in vsc too.
yes, you need to notify your army supervisor. The understanding is that the need of the army take priority over vsc.
yes, you can request to go where you want.
ANYWHERE? that´s cool. Even female can go those riot unit ah?
I´m studying now, then notify who?
you can request, but you may not get posted there.
some special units that require you to stay in is.... not practical for VSC, who are volunteers, and have day jobs. So for riot unit, not really, but you can request.
even if you are studying, there is still some guy you can contact right? it should be the same guy you contact when you need stuff, like enquire for allowance.... there is always some guy, for you to find out.
hmmm. yea true, just hadda say i wanna apply forr vsc or what? actually im not very good with words you see. and feel bad to bother them.
and lastly, do i apply first or do i notify first?
tia.
doesn't matter, you are notifying them, not requesting for permission.
where you studying? maybe i got see you in school too
sky, ite.
you also sign on personnel?
nope, just another vsc in training too

hey sky, i think is the other way round? not notifying, is requesting for permission? IDK actually. but, i try to apply first, then see what happens (:
and, i'm not in vsc training yet. i just sent in my application like an hour ago. how's the training like anyway? mon & thurs right? and wed is firearms? means?
just mon and thurs
when it is time for firearms lesson, you will learn it on mon and thurs.
it's quite fun to learn, and you will get to know interesting stuff.
for any volunteer services, like volunteer to help at old folks home, the army won't stop you. but you will still need to notify your superiors. the army will of course take priority, so you will never be able to use the excuse of vsc to avoid doing your part in the army.
if your army training requires you to stay in, and you can't do vsc work for the month, than you will have to apply for leave from vsc, and tell them you are not available.

hey sky,
okay i get what you meant already. cause i thought must go through this and that to get approval. so basically i just have my scholarship incharge lah? only after i go for the interview and get through right? hmmm. i think is so cool, what do we learn in the classes? any eg? and do we hold arms out on duty or what? duties are like walk on the street and stuff or stay in office?
regards.
you will learn law, for example, what kind of crime will you have the power to arrest people, and under what grounds, and what actions is the most appropriate under different circumstances. for police defence tactics, you will learn how to defend yourself and how to arrest people.
after you pass out, they will prefer you to walk the streets with your firearms, rather than stay in office. vsc has the same police power and authority as any other police officers.
I see cool. then got any thing like express course or what not? ahahaha.
and each time we attend training, do we have to sign in as visitor or we have something like camp pass? i think is damn cool. hopefully they call me up soon. do we have to like take ippt annually too? during training also got pt?
they will call you up like, 3-4 months? than have to screen you for stuff. you will find out more details after they call you up, so don't wory about the details too much.
haha. i think its damn cool lah. but anyway, great knowning you sky.
nice knowning you too
mckenzie,
if you are currently a army regular with some leave for schools & stuffs. You need to acquire a letter from your immediate superior, ie that guy which skyle says is handling your stuffs, to allow you to join vsc.
Since you have already sent in the application. Get that letter before the vsc invites you for a interview. Bring it along during that interview and you can be processed faster then waiting for them to tell you to get that letter.

can anyone enlighten me on what is this letter actually called?
tia!
It called a letter of approval?
Somewhat similar to letters that allows you to prolong your actual NS date in favour of studies?
So i just tell them i wanna join vsc? then they will type ah?
sorry for this really noob question.
Nope, it depends on your officers.
they wont outright refuse to prepare such a letter unless they doubt you can focus on your studies/army duties with the VSC committment.
Your current 1st priority is still your studies/arm forces duties. You have to ensure you do your basic duties right before you can do the vsc duties.
