1.In a case of a shop theft turned violent the shoplifter tried to escape and is rather huge and fat in mass engaging in a violence will only cause both party hurt.. still the theif tried all means to escape the scene.. securtiy guard old old fat fat cannot catch theif one.. wait for police come thief escape liao,shop no cctv then any good solutions??(this is a real case scenario encountered)
2.another case i encountered a shoplifter was seen by a shop assistant for shoplifting and when the shop assistant approach the theif quickly put back the item from his bag.. should the shop assistant let the matter rest since he put the items back or still must insist to make him pay or worst still call the police?? -
For no.1 just memorise his looks and id him later on

for second case, the shop assistance should wait for the subject to left the shop, cause for the offence to stand for shop theft, the product must left the shop permiss, then can detain, if not, there is no offence.
take example, i go into supermarket, i take a can of drink and drink it inside the shop, it is not offence only until i left the shop without paying for the can drink i had drink earlier.
the rule is wait for unpaid product to left the shop. -
