Drug abuse question

  For someone who committed an offence of drug abuse, will still be arrested even if he is seeking rehabilitation?

  If your friend haven got caught , but got drug addiction problem , he can check himself in a halfway house (but only certain halfway house will accept him)

  i don't think so. i know people who went into rehab. it makes no sense in arresting ppl for wanting to seek help.

  The thing is under the Misuse of Drug Act, Chapter 185, Section 8
  
  Except as authorised by this Act, it shall be an offence for a person to —
  
  (a) have in his possession a controlled ; or
  
  (b) smoke, administer to himself or otherwise consume —
  
  (i) a controlled , other than a specified t; or
  
  (ii) a specified
  
  This friend of mine would like to report a drug trafficker who sold the drug to him but is afraid to be arrested under this act. He want to check in to a half-way house, but by right he still had committed an offence.
  
  So... is there a by "left" to this story. Checking into rehab will he still be liable for arrest and conviction?

  no possession / consumption and checked in to rehab should be alright liao wad....
  
  might even pass a urine test too.
