there are lots of minor differences. but the power differences is much much more significant when u change frm a corporal to a sergeant.

legal powers are different for sgt and those below it. for sc and corporal, no difference actually.
there are only two benchmarks, methinks:
one is the rank of sergeant [for investigative powers vested under the criminal procedure code], and the other would be assistant superintendent of police [for MDA cap 185 cases].
as far as I know lah.

If you are a coporal or SC or civilian.

If you are a sargeant.....you can make your own report.

if u sgt n someone confess to u... it can be tendered in court.. but for cpl... no matter how they confess no sgt ard cannot be tendered in court... but if u sc.. i think the div guys will not let that happen to u... v troublesome de...

actually corporal also can make the report. but the statement of the accused person can only be recorded by someone of rank sergeant and above. it's in accordance with the criminal procedure code.
and yes, SI and above got bush jacket, so they can tuck out. haha. -

every blue-uniformed NSF in SPF is an SC. SC is also an individual's rank if he doesn't wear any rank on his shoulders. once he is promoted SC becomes a prefix to the rank so its like SC/Cpl and SC/Sgt
white uniform with gold buttons is called VC - Vigilante Corps.
