  THere is a degree course in singapore management ACADEMY called bachelor in security.
  
  has anyone here graduated from there and went on to be SO? or is the course not what it seems? anyone can help?

  FYI, there are less than 20 direct entry SPO these few years. You really got to be crème de la crème to be shortlisted.
  Among all the applicants, you need to be top in academic performance, cca qualifications and school records, and many other aspect to qualify.

  Besides direct entry, SPF Local and Overseas Scholars add up to the pool of SPO as well.
  
  Lastly, a small percentage of JPO who performed extremely well, will be referred through file and case basis and move up ranks of SPO.
  
  Getting to be SPO by direct entry is not easy. So many graduates looming around these days compared to the past. It is impossible to have so many leadership role players in SPF.

  oh ok. thnaks again. i'm just wondering whether to join as JO after ns or try get a pte degree and be a SO..but i guess the latter is quite difficult.

  If you must have a good degree to sign on, than wouldn't all regular SO be ASP?
  
  Any regular Inspector to debunk this theory?

  If im not wrong a pass with merit will only get you a staion inspector. Must have honours then can be asp. Saw this on the spf webite

  You made a mistake.
  
  A pass with merit is the minimum prerequisite for Inspector, which is SPO
  Station Inspector is the highest rank for JPO; equivalent to SAF warrant officers.
  
  SI and INSP are totally different.

  well, compared to honours, a pass with merit is considered a not so good degree right? So since there are regulars inspector out there, so not every SO is is a top honours degree student than.

  Pass Degree (With Merit) is not the minimum entry requirement for Inspector, a Pass Degree is already enough for it.

  for Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) you need at least an Honours Degree to 1st Class Hons Degree, the differences is that the pay scale will be higher if you have 1st Class Hons Degree.
  
  for Inspector of Police(INSP) you need at least a Pass Degree to Pass Degree (with Merit).
