SPF Question

I'm signing on after I finish my diploma. if I'm lucky and tio PNS, estimation should be 132nd or 133rd intake. shall serve the 2 yrs then go get a degree then try my luck at SO.
if not I will apply for permission to do a part-time degree in my 3rd yr of service.
I got a lot of friends here and there, in regular service and serving or ORDed from PNS, plus I have an uncle whose a regular at TRACOM. -
so u still a civilian lahx. chey i tot u PNSF liaoz....

certain times I got a bloody strong urge to just sign on now cos I passed my 18th birthday liao. -
better question ur bloody strong urge....n dun later that strong urge turn 2 strong resentment.....ask urself....WHY a policeman..not a prison officer/scdf/rsaf etc....if its de pay n uniform..go fly kite....lolx...sry ah..but thats my thinking....serving de SPF thru ur heart...(nt all do that though)

pay? what the heck. police pay has never been attractive in the long run.
if I sign on with MDIS diploma I guess I'll start as a CPL!
but seriously who cares
it's the love for the job that matters. if i perform well in the job the returns will come to me in time. -
LOL, PO salaries have never been high unless you got at least one star on your shoulder

but JO market no probs. because resignation rate is very, very, very high. highest in singapore. -

Hi all.Im also 16 intending on joining spf. Can i ask abt e vocations?As in aft 6 or 9 months of training will they post you to like CID,SECCOM,SOC or must apply yourself?

thanks! Then lets say when i join that time no SPO intake. Can i go for e PO 6months training then when there is a SPO intake i apply?

regrdless of 6 mths or 9 mths training, most prob you will be posted out to land division first to do either frintline duties [6 mths training - junior officer] or investigations [9 mths training - senior officer]. this will be your foundation. then u must wait for vacancies to open up in any department, before you can apply.Originally posted by UnheardUnknown:Hi all.Im also 16 intending on joining spf. you mean you wish to know if you can apply to be an SO after you've been accepted as a JO? i don't think it's possible if you're still a fresh trainee, but if you've been in the force for many many years and have investigation experience, as well as a degree, you can apply.Originally posted by UnheardUnknown:thanks! I think u are getting me wrong. Im currently planning only not actual joining yet. I still wan to go uni to gt a degree so i can apply SPO

after you have completed ur NS and university thereafter, u shld be able to apply for the senior officer intake. -

thought at different age, my aim for joining the force is different...
but actually if you ask me now why i want do join, i dun realy know the answer...
cus ya i know more about the 'real world' i am living in now and hows thing work...
in the past, i just love to be a police officer... and because of this, i join npcc...
for the salary wise, i dun know anything about salary... 3k consider high? 2k consider low? 5k? i dun know... cus now i only earning enough to keep my basic needs and a bit of luxuries... the rest paid by my parent...
so... i getting more confuse that should i join anot...
or should i go other path and take another occupatient?
i dun which to quit halfway and i really want to plan what i will do so i wont waste time cus of quitting...
so... should i join or not? -
Young man its a decision for u to make. Anyway its till early for you. wait until u complete u O's n poly or JC, den decide. Who knows u might have a different opinion then.

but 123 or 124th onwards won't know cos he's away at East Timor for peacekeeping.
hmm. the best way to confirm become a regular SO is luck. really just luck. first, you either serve your BMT/BPT/BRT in any one of the three forces, and if u are damned lucky, you are posted to become a Police OCT. finish up your NS, then get a degree within 5 years (3 years the safest) and sign on as an SO. they will retain your last held NS rank (which would be Insp (NS)
all is by luck one right? hahaha. cos the number of SO intake per year is dependant on the number of SO resignations in the previous year. -
JO to SO is almost impossible one...
