their uniform consists of a dacron blue trousers, and white shirt, with gold buttons. they wear the same belt as the NPCC, and not the synthetic leather one used by the fully dacron blue SPF.
the Volunteer Special Constabulary wear exactly the same uniform as the regulars and SCs. no differences. -

but my guess would be, you tell them when you are free, then they allocate you accordingly. -

we also have the tech savvy ones who come online to rant abt the policemen saying that they "abuse" their powers/ bring sub machine gun into foodcourt.. park at no parking spaces.. etc etc.

oh yes. besides all that police work, VSC also gets to form a contingent at the annual Police Day Parade.

8-9 mths training in evening, twice a week, at HTA (choa chu kang)
if you don't want to commit yourself to the work better don't join, otherwise it is a burden for you.
Working is in the evening and weekends where you are not working (in your company), but if you want to take leave to perform duty, its up to you... -

You will carry out police duties so a certain level of education is needed.

Discipline is the same, uniforms, marching & shooting training. Except its a higher calibre revolver.
Timing wise, classes are conducted in the evening, so it wont disrupt your normal working/studying hours. Twice a week. Usually Monday & Thursday nite.
New intakes are now conducted at HTA and it takes about 8-9 months to complete the course. While in training, you are given an allowance for the hours you actually are training.
Can submit application forms, but note that there is now a aptitiude test. This test will determine your suitability for any SPF/Enforcement positions for the next 3 years.
Then there is physical examinations to make sure you are of reasonable health.
Ex-POs might not have to go thru the whole 8-9months course. Depending on how long ago they left the force. -

If (no offence here), cannot write simple proper English and do some simple explanation and interaction, it will reflect badly on the officer and the organisation.
VSC suppose to supplement and assist the regulars in better ways.. -

I've seen better officers with ITE certs or even just Sec 2 education.
Its the attitude that counts.
But if funniegal is a male, completed NS with the SPF, there is another scheme which ex PO/PNS/VSC can opt for w/o the need of a O level.
But if female, then its difficult. Sorry. -
