Posted to police force?

Hello!
I have just received my further posting for the next phase of my national service and I was posted to the Police Academy and my vacation is Police OCT INSP. This is really something which I totally did not expect and was quite "stunning" to me because I thought I would end up either in OCS or SISPEC.
For the whole of BMT, my sergeants have been telling me about OCS and SISPEC. Never have they ever talked about the police force to me. Hence, I am not very sure what my vocation is all about.
Can someone give me a brief description of what I can expect in the near future?

and what does a police officer/inspector do? how is the training like? still have SOC? wat are the weapons we will be learning? etc etc...
oh. they only asked my to bring some basic toiletries... so am i supposed to bring my SAF issued items? like my number 4 uniforms, LBV, helmet, etc etc... -
NSPI is probably the most highly coveted vocation ever. 9 months of training, POP, then slack.

The most highly coveted vocation? hmmm ok thats nice to know. but still, i want to know roughly wat is it all about? and wats NSPI?

well i got pes B. I passed my soc test. i got silver for ippt. I indicated that i would like to be a commander in all the surveys they gave us. and yeah lah basically i passed all the hand grenade live range etc etc.
as for sitest and peer appraisal i dun really know how i fare lor.
so is my vocation good? -

Central 'A' Div
Clementi 'D' Div
Tanglin 'E' Div
AMK 'F' Div
Bedok 'G' Div
Jurong 'J' Div
Staff depts can includes admin dept, Ops dept, intelligence dept, SDI ...
Line units includes traffic police, PCG, TRACOM, etc ...

Usually, NSPI get posted to land div or respective NPCs ... Anyway, be happy about it .... ur vocation make many jealous .... -

with A lvl/dip can wear 2 PIP.
for regulars need to have degree plus served NS before to get that 2 PIP!! -

2) You do the same thing like most police officers do... but u learn more advance things compared to police officers similar to what a Senior Officer do.... Somewhat simpler!
SOC is simple for u la.... weapons training and unarmed combat... study law... haha!
3) As for that uniform will be issued.... seriously just bring yourself and toiletries.... thats a must.... i think you are suppose to get a long white sleeved shirt for walking out!
Well OCT's is definitely more slack those in SAF la... No need field camp... etc.... but seems like some of my gang ho colleagues like their life in OCT.... Well lucky you tho! -

Bang, salah lah. OCTS don't get posted to NPCs. basically they go to Land DIv HQs like you mentioned, as well as the other line units like PID, CID, PCG, SOC, etc. But they do staff work mainly.Originally posted by gd4u:6 land divisions, line units and staff departments
