Ok, here's an amazing incident which happened to me yesterday....and every part of it is 100% true
I lost my wallet (containing IC, POSB ATM card, Adult ezlink and Poly ezlink, with $24 in notes and $1.10 in coins) at around 1.30 - 2pm when I took a cab to my secondary school for the Sec 1 camp.
I didn't realise it until my OC indicated that I would nid identification proof to enter the Home Team Academy (he was driving there with me and one of the NCOs to collect rations at NPCC HQ for the camp). I assumed I either dropped it in the cab or outside school.
Tried calling Comfort's lost & found hotline throughout the entire ride across the country (school's in Bedok and HQ's in Old CCK). managed to get thru after the car turned into KJE, and made my report. Heng I managed to enter the Academy by sharing pass with my OC, luckily I was wearing my NPCC CI shirt.
Back to school, after dropping the ration boxes off at the NPCC Room, I walked 500m to the nearest NPP which was Kaki Bukit NPP.
Here's the rough conversation when I entered the NPP
*pushes open the door*
Me: Hi, I'd like to report a lost wallet containing my IC..
Officer: Are you... *says out my name*
Me: eh, yah. how did you..
*Officer (SSgt Foo) opens drawer and takes out my wallet*
SSgt Foo: oh, my colleague found your wallet somewhere outside and dropped it off here.
Me: oh...ok... *shocked*
SSgt Foo: did you receive any call from POSB?
Me: regarding?
SSgt Foo: I searched your wallet for a contact number but didn't come across one so I contacted POSB and got them to notify you
Me: oh no, they didn't (POSB
!!!)
SSgt Foo: Anyway there is $24 in notes, $1.10 in coins, your IC..etc etc
This went on and I filled in a form and signed on an incident report before SSgt Foo handed back the wallet to a very elated owner
after grabbing my wallet I quickly zhao and caught the earliest bus back to my unit just in time for dinner and the campfire.
Here's the most amazing part of the story...
after campfire we CIs played a prank on the cadets. after the prank was done, I got sms-es from an unknown number and my mum.
Unknown number: Hi, I m the officer tat return yr wallet 2 u but again had forgotten yr IC. anyway i had went to yr residence and passed it to yr parent. i m sorry about tat
My mum: Yr IC is returned by SSG Foo pls call him to say thanks urgent!
of cos I call SSgt Foo to thank him. I didn't expect him to go all the way to my place to return my IC, and I didn't even realise he didn't return my IC after filling in the particulars.

I would like to thank SSgt Foo for his help, to the extent of returning my IC at my place!! and also his unnamed colleague who spotted my wallet along the street and brought it to the NPP. -

MIB so good meh provide such a excellent service. Last time I went to a NPP in potong pasir to make a complaint against my neighbour ( they turn their 4rm flat into a KTV ). MIB say to me: Go to HDB.
Knn, this Mr Foo relate to u ish it?
I was told tat some passengers write letters/email to shittytimes about how a transport co's staffs provide good service. Diu! Later find out that staff asked his family/friends write one so they can get blar blar awards.

that time i lost my wallet. then take back after few months. all my money not inside leh. around 6$.

one time pick up wallet at mrt station. inside got S$200/-
Then go down to the MRT control station to pass to the person inside cos rushing to get on the train.
2 weeks later, turns out the guy who lost his wallet is my sister's classmate.
So i asked.
the guys says, he only got back his wallet and ic after he rushed back to the station and checked at the control station. all cash disappeared.
ever since that incident. if i pick up something with cash, i dont hand it over. I just tell people to tell the owner to collect from me.
and if handing it over, make sure there is a full list of the inventory of the wallet and signed by 2 parties & 1 witness. -
It may be risky too kitty... for all you know that when you found the wallet... someone else may have threw the wallet off, taking the cash... than you sway enuff to pickup the wallet without the cash and the owner accuse you of stealing his money...Originally posted by viciouskitty74:wah...lucky guy.
