Convert to SOF

  I sign on and currently having my bmt.I would like to know when can i apply to go for sof selection,after my bmt or need to serve 1 or 2 yrs before applying?If i pass the selection.issit consider break bond and need to pay?Pls enlighten..Thanks

  wrong forum perhaps? but anyway, this one will depend on what u signed up for. if, let's say you signed up to become an infantry spec... i think they will make u go through the bslc, aslc, etc.
  
  if i'm not wrong, you can only apply to go SOF if they are looking for people? If i'm wrong, though, do enlighten me.
  
  But i don't think you will be breaking any bond lah, cos after all, you're still with the SAF. But i honestly think that they will make you go through what it was that you signed up for, before anything else.

  sorry my mistake. however, police basic training is not BMT lah. BMT = basic military training. military is army mah, which is why i thought you wrote this in the wrong forum initially. for what it's worth, police basic training [for SCs and Regular NPCO trainees] is POBC [police officer basic course].
  
  but anyway, you can try anyway to apply for a career in the army. i believe that if you're selected, they will take you when you're halfway through your NS, and will then seek to serve out the remaining NS liability as a regular in the SAF.
  
  it's the same as you serving your ns is the SAF/SCDF, but want to apply to be a regular in the SPF. just the reverse. but all that is dependent on MINDEF approving your application lah.
