How do I join the Police's CID?

  CID is regulars-only. NSF, NSmen and VSC cannot join CID as there is a whole ton of OSA and training returns involved.

  nope, my lecturer was a former NS CID officer, he's a Malay and anyway he get his NS post through his father's "connection"

  most probably is do staff work in CID..
  
  those in the investigation branches are confirmed regulars only.

  NS do staff work only lah.. at most also follow regulars go arrest lor..
  
  Btw if u wanna join these specialised depts, you will have to apply for it. But before that you will just be doing basic ground work.
