And erm...West, Jurong Police Divisions has various NPC in the west area. It covers a wide area, from at least Fong Seng to Woodlands. So erm.....not that you choose the next town will help...cos its still under the same division.
PCG has a base in Lim Chu Kang. TP however is more based at Ubi though they patrol everywhere.
I would recommend Clementi Police Division. Maybe who knows, if you work in central, its on your way home so you arent rushing to go anywhere anytime. -

Clementi area : D Division
Jurong : J Division.
You may choose the Division just before gradution, it's 80% that you will be posted there...and if you are FEMALE, they welcome with open arms..(Female VSC are rare).
Reason for not choosing NPC near your house...cos if there is message, u dun want to entertain or attend your neighbours or anyone you know (aunties uncles kepos next door)...
(they may knock on your door to look for you...
VSC are only Volunteers, not full pleged 24 hours service. they have their own civilian lives, works etc... Do not invite unnecessary "issues"..(hope u know wat I mean...honest opinion). -
The VSC duties are interesting..
At NPC level, you'll get to work with with the Regulars.
Everything under the sun. Round and Round in the police car.
If you are experienced, you'll get to join the plain clothes duties.
You do what the regulars do as a team. (exciting!)
You are the co-partners with Regulars.
The experiences, it's "money cannot buy"!
In VSC, You'll get the joys and thrill...
But on a serious note, it is also huge responsibilites.
You will be seen/judged by the public as the Regulars when you are out in the field, once you don the blue uniform or in plain clothes.
So have a good thought and whether you are willing to take up the challenges.
Don't let it be a 1 - 2 year thingy. Yes, some will quit after a while (which is discouraged). The time and efforts have been wasted.
On the brighter side, most of them have stayed for a long time, some even retire only after their 25 years of service. (applaud loudly) -
i wonder if the interview will be more strict. I am afraid i didnt speak well or say something wrong in the interview, i am OUT. hehe. Hope i can receive their letter. going to a month since my last application.

Give u a hint..
when they ask "why did u want to join the force".
Say :"I want to serve the nation."
and you may add:
"I want to be the responsible person, that's why I am volunteering my time for this purpose. I want to help people."
Be Confident.

Just be calm during the interview...The senior officers are very nice pple.
They want to see if you are calm in these situations, cos a PO must be calm, sensitive, skilfull and professional while handling different situations. -

btw.. i heard alot of ppl say must say "to serve the nation" or public or whatever.. if everyone say the same thing during interview.. the interview wont feel weird?

at least, they know that you are heading for the "Goal" and know your "role" lor.

So take the initiative. dress in decent clothes and help yourself to the catered food and chit chat with the other officers there. Bring a jacket cos it can get cold waiting your turn.
Interviewers also do tend to look and like to see confident folks they will meet at the rooms. Bring along a water bottle, cos the drinks always arent enough for lots of thirsty nervous interviewees.
Bring the following:
1) Birth Cert
2) NRIC
3) Educational Cert (Preferably your O, A & Dip or Degree Transcript if you have them)
4) POSB/DBS book/card
5) Bring copies of above also so it save the officers trouble to photocopy them.
And Lotus is rite, as long as you can roughly say the Singapore Pledge, it will work enough for the interviewers. -

Eh kitty. I thought this is only for regular? VSC also? The letter just stated ti bring IC. haha.. Think to be safe than sorry, i should listen to you. And... Btw.. the training was 1 week twice right? its fixed or can i go to training more often and graduate early? haha. and can i work more than 16hrs per month?

you may do more than 16 hours month...In fact, 24 hours is encouraged for JO (Junior officers).
....you may be so involved that you don even know that you have exceed the 24 hours/month... hehe.. -
btw, the assessment session on nov 6 is just an aptitude test. remember to bring your identity card

not sure. The Dy recruitment head replied in my email, saying that its just some aptitude test on nov 6.
