Do I stands a Chance in entering SPF?

Hi everyone, I am a female, 17 going 18 this september, and hope that i could become a female PO. I only have a O lvl cert of C6 english, B3 Maths, B3 Chinese, C6 combined science phy/chem, D7 combined Human his/SS, D7 Food n Nutrition. I am now a higher Nitec Student in ITE.. But i would hope to join SPF now cause i am really keen to join. If SPF wants me, i will quit my ITE and take up part time diploma courses. I know my results is really bad and is a very low chance to get into SPF. but.... really hope that SPF will accept me. My family encourage me to get a diploma first before joining, cause if i join now, the salary will be very low. but i really dont mind. I just wanna become a police officer. I had submitted a application form on april 13th. and still waiting for reply while continuing with my ITE studies. Btw.. just now i went thru some thread and post, there are a lot of replies which demoralised me now.. haha. like dun even think of getting in with 3 O lvl credits. I only have 4 man!
So i post this just hoping to get reply with are encouraging and optimistic.~ -
I think study first work later ba? Its a governemt job afterall, so paper qualification is nevertheless important. Unless you are easily contented with a low salary. better to finish ur ITE first.
Must rmb, not just you joining police force, there are ppl with diplomas and A levels joining too since its hard to find work nowadays
I'm going NS soon to clear my 2 yrs then going overseas to study after i finish either diploma or foundation studies in aussie, but knowing that "paper" is still important i have no choice.

Please complete your ITE cert first. YOu will have a higer pay start then O lvl.
Believe me, you will be glad you joined with ITE cert.
Then when you have 2 to 3 years service with no misconduct, apply for sponsorship for a part-time diploma course sponsored by the Police. -
haha.. what i feel now is... i cant wait to become a police. haha. really hope they will accept me. If really cant, then no choice, i complete my higher nitec first then try again, if still cannot, i get a diploma first and try again. Btw, you said a lot of A lvl and poly grad applying. Are they all female? SPF will recruit female and Male equally or More male? And i guess there wont be very much applicants, since this job is..... kinda dangerous i guess. I have told a lot of my friends that i want to become a police and they were shocked. Saying this is a dangerous job or what and they wont be.

Erm, from what i heard you'll get some frontline experience before being posted to HQ for office work? At least for the females -

its a government job. so if you can you should get as high qualifications as possible since not only starting pay, but your promotions and what not are based on your educational level

Please do not be mistaken. WPOs do work the frontline.
And as said earlier. It is better to enter with a Higher nitec. -
And you cant just deny that it is safe in Singapore. YOu just dont know when a crazy person might come after you. There is a certain risk factor involved. But hey, if its you dream. Chase it.

hehe.. of course is my dream.. maybe i watched too much police and thief drama? which makes me really into police.. and my friends say drama and real life is different.. but i believe that those dramas still reflects what a police do in real life.. its not totally untrue and unrealistic.. if not i will complain to the HK TVB Company. Of course when i watch, i know which is true what is just "fairy tales"~

haha.. from what i know from drama, catch thief, stay in office do office work, investigate crimes, patrol, clear scene, see corpse, all this i think is still a need for police to do bah? of course not talking about the storyline.. then thats really very dramatic.. huh? If you are successfully accepted. You will go for your course at HTA. After graduation. You will be posted out. Quite rare for regulars. Diploma holders with poor results can and most likely will get pushed to entry-level Corporal.
Best option is to get a degree before joining, though I'll most likely sign on after I get my dip.
