How do regulars look at Volunteer Special Constabulary ?

The "gods" at PHQ has been trying to integrate the VSC and NS personnel into the regular force such that they are not long distinguishable. I believe the VSC and the NS KAH and CAH are allowed to carry their warrant cards in their daily life, this goes to show the amount of trust they place in these officers.
No point doing a VSC versus regular or NSman vs Regular officer type of bashing. This will only seggregate the workplace further. If you are a new guy at work place, you just gotta to show that you can work in a group, get things done. Be positive. -

I did a double check on OSA.
We keep having folks harping that they are saying things for our own good.
When in fact, these folks has forgotten the very basic nature of law.
Intention.
OSA meant to protect against bad intention of folks to misuse the information to seriously harm the people.
It was not meant to protect any single individual against their wrong doing.
As far as I can see, the law was set to protect people. Not one person or one organisation.
An organisation will not collasp just because that words was said about its in capability.
But it will collaspe on its own when the organisation refuses to grow stronger from its experiences for its incapability. -

The only parts not integrated has to be the mental state of everyone within that organisation called the SPF.
And minds, we cannot control. We can only advise.
But as long as you felt that you are with the organisation, and you think and believe it such. There is power which none has obviously try to tap on.
When I typed that I had sit down and have coffee with such officers that does not like VSC.
Did it not cross the minds of you, who are reading that text to realise that 'sit down drink coffee' part has surpassed the barrier of the 'disliking the VSC'?
Policemen are humans, kindly do not treat them as silly robots that couldnt think pass that also. -

Ok, anyway as you mentioned, there is always a human factor involved, I agree (thus I always appreciate a good boss or supervisor in such a regimental workplace). Hence, vice versa, once you are in a supervisory role, it is always appreciated to have that human touch. Since you mentioned that you are a MPO, I assumed you hold a SO rank. Promogulating a "regular dislike VSC" is infectious. When your co-workers and subordinates (including newbies) also adopt such a view, I shudder to think of the consequences. Bottom line is, the cup is either half empty or half full. Take the good and make the best out of it.
In the second part of the posting, I cannot fully understand the message in the last 2-3 lines. Maybe you would like to elaborate on that.

I kinnda have a funny feeling i should not even start this thread... anyway , it was just out of curiousity that i wanted to know what do regulars think of vsc. Like VK mentioned , some are just there to wayang while in fact a majority is there to do what they felt was needed of them . I wanted to know more so that i could have a better understanding of what its like in a government organization( the human factors and etc)since i never worked in one before !
Anyway , i know i am being a bit of " nervous spider " again . I received a call on 14th Nov evening from the vsc officer saying that he already received my application and he also asked me things like A) whether i cld attend trainings on Mon & Thur nites @ CCk , B) the exact qualifications .... Well ,my replies to him were positive and he said OK. Does that mean i am granted an interview ? Or he just called to let me know the application is received ? Erm... so ... can i be expecting a letter of some kind ? ermm... roughly how long ?

I don't think NS KAH and CAH are allowed to carry their warrnt cards in their daily life. So kind of them to check those critieria over the phone before arranging for an interview. My guess is that you will either receive a letter within these 2 weeks or a call to invite you for an interview. I hope so too !!! Those with experiance... the whole interview process ( including you sending in application , recieve notification , go test bla bla ) would it take longer than 2 months ? I dont find this a wrong thread.
Its is true to the fact and is a question worth debating which is unfortunately sideline by other people with other agenda not relating to the true form of this question.
Can much officers on this forum, stand up and say that they love VSCs to distractions?
Or simply tolerating them as persons with individual quirks and manners and upbringing? -
well.. i hope the "detest meter " is kept to the minimum ba....

VSCs are a valued resource in my NPC at least...
always called up to do plainclothes OPs during friday nights etc.
dun think anybody treats them as nuisance tho.. unless tt guy really got prob like always wanna act big etc.
