police report enquiry, pls help....

a friend of mine told me he slapped his gf once, and his gf reported to police, and the police is preparing to sue him. could any one tell me what's the exact procedures? and how long will it last?
and he told me that he was police man before. the police station his gf reported to is the location he was working. so his ex-colleagues showed him the report already...blablabla....
cos he ever lied to me before, i dun know what he said is true or not. how can i check out the truth? i am a foreigner here, pls help me...thanks a lot!

police dont sue. they charge u for n offence....
n since yr fren got 'connections' in the force y not he ask them instead since they r 'handling his case. then again they will be also charged for breach of confidentiality....
all can share the same cell... -

These are petty problems. The police will usually asked the agrief party if she wants to press charges. It can be a very teadious process for both parties.
Try asking your friend to apologise to his gf and tell her she has nothing to gain from it but teadious process that can last for a year perhaps. She can go to the police IO and opt to drop the charges. Hope it works. -

hmmm... simple procedure.. lodge a report. go to the magistrate and lodge a complain from there investigation will take place.. after that then court case.. but if you want it to be fast... SUE YOURSELF...

Er...I dont understand. What requests? He said he may be jailed. He wants me to put my money in his company, and then let me run his company instead of him when he's in jail. so i wanna check it's true or not. -

but.... if he were to be given this kind of excuse for u to help him... i rather u to be safe then sorry... if he is really that informative.... let him tell u which division is handling his case and get ur friends's name and ic and the in charge's name and go to the division and ask yourself?

It dosent matter which police station it was reported to (for this case, it seems). Would advise you to heed the mata up there's advice and get his particulars, the division, and the IO's name (investigating officer). There is also usually a contact number of the IO and a case number, so get that too so that you can call him up yourself and quote it. He has no reason to be reluctant to tell this to you, since he is asking for your favour, and you can take it as your personal right to enquire before parting with your money. Please do be careful and be completely sure about his criminal case before investing a cent. From the sound of it, this case dosent sound very normal, for why would a normal person tell another to invest and run his company if this person ends up running to this forum and asks us such questions? -

Isn't it weird to call the IO and ask? I think they will probably ask you how you are involved, and they probably won't tell you anyway since you're not directly involved.
But if this person has to go to such lengths / tell such a long story to get you to run his company, sounds dubious. -
