The police wanted to search him so they said, "POLICE!! *Flashes shiny badge* I WAN TO SEARCH YOU!!!!". But SWIM doesnt want to get search, so he says "No! Unless you have a search warrent, i do not consent to a warrentless search".
What would the police do to him if this was in singapore? -

Fourthly... we can arrest you first and bring you back and search you...

Here's someone watching too much Hong Kong Movies.
One lady with 2 young children. Shoplifted children clothes. Was caught. Brought to the shop's office and shop called the police.
Police arrived, talk to the Shoplifter to ask her to call her family member to come and bring the children away so the children wont have to ride the police car to the police station with the mother.
The lady request for the PO to call a number. Its a number to a church. The lady insist on speaking to a Lawyer from the church. The Lawyer refused to speak to her.
The lady then insist that since PO spoke with the lawyer, will have to let her & her 2 children go, just like the Hong Kong Movies.

An American Engineer in Singapore on a Expat package.
Said American Engineer got drunk and was making a scene along Orchard Road. He was trying to score with some Philliphino females that was being arrested for overstaying.
Claiming that these Philliphino females are his friends and are under his protection, so they must leave with him and POs must remove their handcuffs. the Philliphinoes says they totally dont know him.
Even after the Philliphinos females was removed from the scene, American Engineer keep heckling the remaining uniformed PO and was himself arrested also.
Some other americans then try to intervene, to shout loudly that he is a American and thus has immunity against arrest?????????
Anyway, VSC on duty was able to identify that the American Engineer is not diplomatic staff as the VSC has business dealings with the American Engineer's company.
The American Engineer, in his drunken state, did not recognise his company's client which was in Uniform.
The other american friends, upon recognising the VSC. Shut up after that. Another VSC then warn off the rest of them, that they should go back and re-look their Expat Package to see whether does being arrested in SGP would result in them violating their expat package? The americans leaves quietly after that, claiming they don't really know the Engineer and cannot help bail that Engineer out. -
2 officers, attending a case of family dispute.
a teenage daughter was holding a bottle of insecticide spray and locked herself in her room. earlier, the daugther has threatened to use the insecticide spray on her family members to blind them.
upon police arrival, she says she only was using it to kill cockroches. -
Another family dispute:
One woman threatened her sister-in-law with a chopper.
Said woman was ever warded in Woodbridge for depression.
She continues shouting nonsense at the POs, claiming because she has records with Woodbridge. PO cannot arrest her. -

There are other "shiny badges" around that you might not have seen, but they hold no statutory powers unlike that little card.
