no, just use baton.Originally posted by chronicles:I know this might sound a little far-fetched with some people calling it unrealistic or stupid.
But supposing you are the police officer and a 10 year old boy or 14 year old teen comes to you with a knife swinging it around agressively, would you shoot him?
every bullet u shoot u have to write a report...and if the reason of shooting is not substantial enuf, u'll be charged...tink carefullyOriginally posted by chronicles:what if you are not fast enough, personally i would fire a warning shot first if i ever were to be one maybe it might stun him/her
Haha yeah that was a nice solution..but not yet for me.Originally posted by houndy:knife??? draw gun only... confirm he will put it down... tested and proven...
anyway now got stun gun.. so just STUN him lor...
huaiwei you power leh... if it was me... I think i am not talking to you now... hahaha...Originally posted by huaiwei:Haha yeah that was a nice solution..but not yet for me.
Someone (not a teen) swung TWO knives at me, but I didnt even draw anything...let alone shoot him. just remember to always think on the ground....there is no such thing as hard and fast rules training command talk about.
if w/o stun gun take baton throw at the bugger then charged and grab the hand holding the knife and break the wrist..followed by another stun to his head..settledOriginally posted by chronicles:I know this might sound a little far-fetched with some people calling it unrealistic or stupid.

ehh.... no more martial arts since years back....Originally posted by stellazio:don't ever fire a bullet unless you feel totally threatened and can't do anything else.heck even drawing your revolver will give you tons of extra paperwork to do. baton should be more den enuff, but sadly to say the martial arts you guys picked up are crap and probaly won't help you in any sorta fight.
well, most unarmed combat taugh its already modified, it can be through suggestion from officers or by the martial arts itself.... you might wanna ask chun yong about it, if you are interested.Originally posted by stellazio:but its the same what as unarmed combat is adapted from some form of martial arts.you think the police officers up there came up with those moves by themselves?no what.
that's why told you modified liao...Originally posted by stellazio:well from what i can see is that most of your joint locks are adapted from jujitsu and some of the moves are from akido.even unarmed combat can be a form of martial art itself..haha..i heard from my cousin who trains with me in muay thai and brazilian jujitsu that what they are learning is crap as compared to the real art itself.
U havn't seen the 'three two' ones with 2 choppers yet. Seen already then tell me it works or not.Originally posted by houndy:knife??? draw gun only... confirm he will put it down... tested and proven...

Before we even step in, we will be doing AOS from a distance.....Originally posted by agk_titan:there is always the last method...run away and call for backup
this is beacuse there is also different method of approach by the member of public towards our officer....Originally posted by ngokyc:Seems alot of our officers have different methods in apprehending the situation.
Nowadays, PO were trained in T-Baton. It is a new defence (primary) and attacking (secondary) technique PO needs to be trained. It is effective if the officer is cool minded and be able to react fast to defend himself against attack.
There is something called - Appreciation of Situation (AOS) which is important for all POs on the ground. Never step into a situation where you are in disadvangtage. For example, u shall never dash into a gang crash w/o knowing what exactly u need/want to do. Get the appropriate backups and keep ops room informed so that they can arrange for resources. Safety comes first in this instance.
Karate, TKD and etc seems too late to react.. street fighting better.
