CISCO officers to get newly designed uniforms

SINGAPORE: CISCO officers will be getting new uniforms next week.
The move comes 2 weeks after the security organisation was corporatised.
Previously, it was difficult to tell CISCO officers from Police officers.
But all three thousand two hundred CISCO officers will start wearing the new uniforms from next Wednesday.
That is because CISCO is now a private limited company, and staff no longer wear the Home Team's blue.
"After we corporatised, we are talking about our own new corporate colour, it is a tinge lighter than the old blue and the material is lighter, it is a poly viscose it breathes better and is more comfortable for our officers to wear," said Paul Chong, Chief Executive Officer of CISCO.
The belt has also changed from black to brown which will make it easier to immediately recognise CISCO officers.
Cisco started out as the Guard and Escort Unit in 1958.
Back then officers wore shorts but over the years the uniform has been gradually updated to this latest design.
Besides the clothing, other aspects of CISCO have been getting a makeover.
At the new high-tech nerve centre, staff keep track of security vehicles using GPS tracking systems, and officers out on duty will soon be able to report back their location at the touch of a button.
That means faster response times when security needs arise. - CNA /dt -
The reason being why CISCO has to corporatise a new company was set up called AETOS thus they need to be a stand alone company thus they spilt up from MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) the uniform thing was already said along time in SPF but i think now people will think differntly of CISCO officers... I really respect these officers when they undergo training comparing the attitude to AETOS or reg PO in SPF... Hmmm uncomparable.... (I apologies if i have insulted anyone) i dun think my discipline is good myself... Anyway i think they look funny in their new uniform.... brown belt! its better they look different from SPF officers.
or else the public will mistook them as spf officers.
i think more will join cisco as their pay may be better and they can take on more new security assignments of a different scope. -

If the greenish looking ones are AETOS officers... They are also like CISCO but it managed under Temasek Holdings... They handle mainly Airport security they will be expending soon....Originally posted by sgboy2004:green uniform?

hahaha! i saw them in their uniforms already! looks quite inferior and awful as compared to normal police officers. CISCO vehicles are no longer named "POLICE" but "AUXILIARY POLICE"! Guess the difference!

The other day whilst traveling to work in the morning! I saw a CISCO van and guess wat the passenger threw something out it was white in colour - paper perhaps! Sob! Thats those who passed out....
But the trainees are well disciplined compared to AETOS! =x

Anyway, realised they are now actively deployed to convey prisoners for the Psisons Service. Hardly see any of the prisons officers in hospitals anymore. -

How come all like discriminate CISCO, they are one of our Auxilary Forces and they do plays important parts in our work too...
Without them, you should know what job scope you will be taken out to perform if lack of manpower arises...
Well, i know of people whom cross over from SPF SO to CISCO, although they are rare but there is are people who do it.... surprise right? -
