Useful to inform ppl abt it? It seem like I get more info here than at the recruitment drive.Originally posted by huaiwei:Come to think of it, no one seems to have bothered to mention there was a recruitment drive last week end.
Who say anyting about spiking anyone?Originally posted by Eating Snake:Come on folks, don't be so bitter lah, after the postings by romancetan on not disclosing stuff this thread is going a bit downhill ... Let's focus on what this thread was about in the first place i..e recruitment into the VSC. Viciouskitty, what times are the trainings for VSCs in the evenings? And which days?
Applauded for your comments!Originally posted by viciouskitty74:Need I mention?
SInce VSCs are Volunteers, we do have some spoilt princesses that had refused to attend cases of family disputes or suicide scenes, resulting in inconveniences for the regular officers at large.
And there were situations where folks, inlculding regular officers who fainted at the sight of a dead body or has unwarily step onto human parts and contaminating the scene.
6.30 pm to 10.30 pm on every Mondays and Thursdays. Occassionally on Saturday too.Originally posted by Eating Snake:Come on folks, don't be so bitter lah, after the postings by romancetan on not disclosing stuff this thread is going a bit downhill ... Yeah there is.Originally posted by Gymrat17:Hi,
Does anybody remember if there is any color vision test to test for colour blindness using ishihara plate (looks like a lot of colour dots, but the number can be seen among the dots if you look at it hard enough) during the medical examination for all recruit of VSC.
They take your height and weight, make you do a color blindness test, fill out a bit of history..there's no blood or hearing test but there's a blood pressure test.Originally posted by Gymrat17:Hi PeRsEuS
During medical check up for VSC recruit, my understanding is X-Ray & Urine test, is there any other test or check required. For ex: Blood test, Blood pressure and hearing test?
I don't think you need perfect color vision unless you're in more demanding roles..I think they'll still take you on but not allow you to be in certain divisions maybe. I'm not sure, I took mine on 24th Monday and I got them all right, just breezing through and describing those with no numbers as "snakes and rabbits" until the nurse laughed and said "No more liao you still fooling around"Originally posted by Gymrat17:I ever took the color vision test using ishihara plate, but I think I didn't get all the number correctly 100%, I think I got a few number wrong, can I still be considered for VSC?
I dunno. I read the whole book easily she didn't really say anything till the end..Originally posted by Gymrat17:Hi PeRsEuS,
How many color plates did you have to read before the nurse agreed that you have perfect color vision?

Congrats to the 61st intake basic training course VSC on their graduation.
Hope they can contribute in more meaningful way then what nonsense they did while in training.

as a grad of 61st intake, IMHO, by no mean our group fit your description of nonsense, and we are contributing meaningfully, ready to serve with a passion.
just wondering when did 61st intake did cross the path of your honorable kitty? since this a OPEN forum, most likely, the entire 61st intakes are all tainted with your comment even before our group started contributing. We could only hope for the best, when most of us start reporting this evening.
