Besides, romancetan isn't that unfamiliar with recruitment stuffs, and since he figures he is more knowledgeable as to what needs to be mentioned and not, who am I to contradict him?
Besides, all these graphic informations should have been a necessary evil to learn before you go onto the ground as VSC officers.
It would be even more embraressing when you have VSC officers being squeemish or upsetting the families of the deceased while in uniform.
Gives a bad image to the public as well as embraressing the VSC to the regulars

SInce VSCs are Volunteers, we do have some spoilt princesses that had refused to attend cases of family disputes or suicide scenes, resulting in inconveniences for the regular officers at large.
And there were situations where folks, inlculding regular officers who fainted at the sight of a dead body or has unwarily step onto human parts and contaminating the scene.

6.30 pm to 10.30 pm on every Mondays and Thursdays. Most Training are On Mondays and Thursdays from 1830 to 2230 but expect to fall out late....
Days may differ went have shooting and have to do IPPT test on saturday evenings.
Now started to have BMI limits and need to go through phycho test to get into VSC.
CNB only by invitation.
Most of the time u canot tell the diff between regular and VSC cause now all wear the same...

Does anybody remember if there is any color vision test to test for colour blindness using ishihara plate (looks like a lot of colour dots, but the number can be seen among the dots if you look at it hard enough) during the medical examination for all recruit of VSC. -

During medical check up for VSC recruit, my understanding is X-Ray & Urine test, is there any other test or check required. For ex: Blood test, Blood pressure and hearing test? -

You do a chest X ray..vision test..I think that's about all. -
I ever took the color vision test using ishihara plate, but I think I didn't get all the number correctly 100%, I think I got a few number wrong, can I still be considered for VSC?

I don't think you need perfect color vision unless you're in more demanding roles..I think they'll still take you on but not allow you to be in certain divisions maybe. You can do the application for the VSC and apply for your SAF unit supervisors to write a letter to approve your involvement in the VSC.
We have a few SAF regulars in the VSC as well.
However, Your 1st priority has to be your own SAF Unit & Reservist duties when called upon. -

as a grad of 61st intake, IMHO, by no mean our group fit your description of nonsense, and we are contributing meaningfully, ready to serve with a passion.
just wondering when did 61st intake did cross the path of your honorable kitty? since this a OPEN forum, most likely, the entire 61st intakes are all tainted with your comment even before our group started contributing. We could only hope for the best, when most of us start reporting this evening. -
