Well, the fact is I have been to practically every single one (all except once) of my div's in-service and head meetings for the past one year without seeing a single one of them. They are upon posted, placed immediately into Staff Officers Positions.
And the rest that does patrols, well, they already know their work and the regulars, so they usually will be patrolling with them then with the VSCs.
I always wondered how these folks are going to do regular patrols thou. They will probably outrank the TLs. I have only seen the sole VSC SO in my NPC doing plainclothes so far. -

Last night, at the 62nd Intake VSC Orientation/Swearing in. I identified a DSP who applied to join VSC almost immediately. (I've never met him!)
Guess ex-officers does have certain bearings/presence that does shows. -
Haha....oh well. The number of officers in a div is not so huge that I cant find out their backgrounds loh.
Then again, maybe one of them could be....I gota chk again. -

Its only interesting to see how clueless you guys knows about real police work.
Please just stick to presenting the awards and the certs and phototaking, group phototaking and the makan so that everyone will get to mingle at the makan as well as spend some quality time with your loves one there to see you graduate.
And so that, everyone can also go home earlier to rest.
The banners, flowers, decorations & foods are provided by the budget.
You guys just need to go up, receive the certs and enjoy the graduation. You guys deserve it.
Whatever after, then its up to you guys to plan and execute. Kindly do not force each other on issues not agreeable to each other. -

Nice to hear that so many are still in training. We usually have 30 percent drop out by the 1st month and another 20 percent by the 3rd month.
And I guess it helps that there is Raymond Tan now at the helm of the TRACOM VSC Admin Team. -

That was so long ago...
But there was one person I remember from that day, who was a malay lady from the IRAS. She was asking about commitment level for the training course and she was saying that she would not be free for 4 months in a year. I'm not sure if you were around when she was speaking to INSP Raymond.
Anyway, my point is that, I remembered that scene so vividly is because we were all told "16 hours per month" and "2 nights a week for 6 months" commitment during the interview. However, only on that first day we found out that our course is 8 months long and we must make 80% attendance or fail the course.
I think most people quit after the first day is because of the attendance issue. Since you are with the recruitment branch, I just want to feedback that maybe the course requirement should be made known during the interview as well. I believe many ppl got a big surprise from that announcement on the first day. -

I trust everyone here knows everyone with their indiscretions, who went after who, who cheated who, who married who and who is having affairs with who right?
And since we cannot use names, can we simply roughly give an idea of what the persons involved does, their ages, their personality traits?

Or its meant to be a prevalent culture that good officers are forever being made use of and dispose of without even a word of appreciation.

Superman cases are always the best to sent in the VSCs. Afterall, the person is already dead.
And the VSC only needed to cordon off the area and go there to chase off the cats that are interested in the new body parts.
The ants however, are harder to chase off. They will come, surround the fresh body parts and are the best indications where the body parts has flown after impact with the hard pavements.
You can then roughly gauge how much height the superman has fallen by the distance the body parts are, from the actual landing point of the superman.
VSCs are also less squemish as they get to recuperate from the event, away from police work, with their own boring work at their regular jobs. -
Oh.....and how you recognise what a brain looks like.
You simply need to imagine a pink semi translucent gel. Almost like a slightly milky pink colour agar agar. -

No need to post graphic details about superman cases just to spite him ... After all if you were the family member of the jumper I think you wouldn't want to hear about cats eating the brain. Let's focus on what this thread was about in the first place i..e recruitment into the VSC. Viciouskitty, what times are the trainings for VSCs in the evenings? And which days?
