Another note to female officers.
Please keep your skirt length to slightly above your knee, neatly hemmed and ironed. Any shorter and you risked showing off cellulites & interesting ugly veins.
For attending any ceremonies, please at least attempt to drop by a hair salon to do up a low bun, especially if your hair is long or touching your collar.
Please also try to put on some light make up so you dont look totally washed out. A lipstick and light blusher make a big difference to how alert and smart you can look.
Luke, do inform your ladies that is a lot of hair salon at chinatown Pearl's Centre that they can go in a group to bun up their hairs before their ceremony. -

Actually. Recruitment Unit is part of Manpower Department.
And the training period issues was mentioned at any recruitment drive as well as the interview.
Guess folks just tend to focus on the far side, after the training instead of the immediate training timing needs.
But then, there is actually a lot of fun with training itself. You make so many friends, from different background and different industry and different stages of their lives. Don't you think so?

The 61st Intake VSC BTC is longest at 8 months because of the additional holidays, course syllabus & special events added in by TRACOM VSC.
Manpower was informed that it would be 9 months! -

Oh yes they will!!!!!
Cos the newbies will be gathering and marching up to the lecture theatrette for a long briefing.
Suggest that you wear smart casuals, sports shoes or flats.
Keep your hair need, tie up so it wont be so hot/humid.
Bring a little less bags or barang barang, but do bring along a nice writing pen and a small notepad. They will be useful to jote down notes, sign your swearing in papers & copy down the contact numbers/email addy of your new batchmates.
if possible, bring along copies of your NRIC & your bank account and submit to the admin team so they can immediately set to task the collation and submission to register you with Finance Dept.
Wear simple, and do bring along a light cardigan, cos the lecture theatrette can get pretty cold.
And hair, keep to dark colours and less visible jewellery. -

it helps that the new incoming 62 intake has only 7 ex-regulars/pns officers of which 5 of them are senior officers.
easier for her to manage unless these senior officers are azzholes, then it would definitely scare her off.

question: if my hair is very layered shoulder length and unable to bun up, will a pony tail do? pls advice

Ex-Regulars/PNS joined the VSC, they won't have to attend the lengthy 8 months training~Basic Training Course (BTC) as they already have the necessary trainings and experience.Originally posted by huaiwei:Actually what happen to those NSIs who join VSC?

I do not think it is about younger or older POs. It is a matter whether this officers are familiar with their rights and also whether their boss is supportive or not.Originally posted by viciouskitty74:Well, looking back, the POs 1st on the scene are all pretty young.

I would understand why the PO are finding it hard to turn down the NEA officer's request, as the NEA were empowered in that period by the SPF.
On ground patrol POs were instructed to assist the NEA as much as possible.
And being young and inexperienced as they are, with their miind still on 'why they are not partying like the rest of the crowds'.
It was a horrifying experience. -

Just that you didnt really see them unless you turns up for Inservice & meetings.
They are upon posted, placed immediately into Staff Officers Positions.
And the rest that does patrols, well, they already know their work and the regulars, so they usually will be patrolling with them then with the VSCs. -
