MTE is Meet-Term Engagement..
its something like...2 days as a regular police officer is equivalent to 1 day as an NSman. so NS is 2 years, MTE term is 4 years to fulfill NS liabilities. -

Okies.....just so that everyone here has a chance to know.
There is VSC in the CNB.
However, no one is allowed direct entry to CNB.
You first have to get thru the application to join VSC process. Namely, find the guts to fill in and submit the form.
Am selected to attend the interview.
Cleared the psychometric tests, medical examinations and are selected for the Orientation/Training.
Training is for a minimum of 6 months, twice a week at TRACOM (1830 hours to 2200 hours) on Monday & Thursday Night. Not stay in.
Pass the written test as well as the IPPT & Weapon Handling Training.
Serve at least 6 months on the grounds as a VSC. ie. do active patrols, plain clothes raids & ambush as well as clocked impressive hours proving your commitment and meattle to function as a Officer.
Then.......you can be considered for posting to the CNB.
The TP VSC is fairly erractic on their acceptance of VSC officers into their division, so its a matter of whether your luck is there or not. -

Bond? Of coz not. But seriously I have never understood why anyone would go thru al the trouble for the course, only to quit a month after finishing course... -

Yep.
We have a lot of trainees that dropped out even before they finished the course.
For them to drop out only after they finished the course, they usually have their own personal reasons which we are not compelled to force them to stay with us. Some good, some bad. But at least they finished the course.
No. There is no contract bond. Emotional Bond only. After all, these are folks that have marched with you, sweat with you and went thru similar things that you did together, irregardless of your race, age, marital status and social status. You would feel the same as losing a fren. But the world is very small, everyone will meet everyone again. -

The lesser feeling might stem from being a female, with lessor strength, confidence & capability only by oneself only.
As long as you perform to your own potential, knowledge & capabilities. Handling criminals is never a problem. -

Well its their passion and commitment to the work that counts! You will be surprised that some VSC's can work better than the regulars or NSF!
