If you are a VSC currently and want to join as a Regular... Wont it make you so PO... Haha! already have so much things to handle and still want extra work to come.... 12hr shift is already giving you so little time to spend with your family... adding 16hrs more even lesser time to have the ties with family memebers....

didnt seem to beat a lot of other VSC officers that turns to being a PO as a carreer. -
Saw in today's sunday times newspaper (page 27) that VSC can also be Traffic Police (TP).

Vicious Kitty are you a VSC? I'm curious whether a lot of people sign up at these recruitment drives - I never really heard of VSC until recent years. Anyway, I am one of those VSCs who actually did submit an application to be a regular, and out of the 5 new VSCs I just got to know, 4 of them are from universities, and ALL of them have applied to be SOs too.

1) Must have completed NS? i'm thinking of joining when i turn 18 (still in poly, i am now taking O's).
2) How do VSC officers get promotion?
3) Is service to NPCC considered police-related activity? -

it's been nearly 1month after i went for the medial checkup and i haven receive letter from VSC. any idea if they will send a letter even i got rejected?

2. Hm...touchy issue. According to the PGO, by right promotions can be considered based on a timeframe set by educational level, but I dont seem to see that really happening. Any tom dick and harry seems to be either getting prmoted to fast or too slow for some reason or other. Personally, I dont give a damn. I am happy with what I have now.
3. No. Why I know that? Coz I am STILL in NPCC now! But its still good to mention it during the application process. In fact, they asked me specifically if I was from the NPCC when I went to submit my docs just before the interview.
