don't know or care about so many fancy thingamus on the gun. An officer who allows his gun to be snatched in the 1st place is a poor officer. Anyways I'm a fan of big caliberes like the magnum rounds, ACPs n AEs. Anyhing that's chambered for these rounds oughta be good for police work. A suspect may not feel anything n keep going after being hit by 4 or 5 9mm rounds but a nice .45 ACP in his chest is gonna blow him back even if he doesn't actually feel it.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Hey guys, what do you think of the use of sae the Beretta M9 or the Glock series of handguns by the SPF?If safety is a prome concern,a suspect who does not know of the M9's decocking lever will probably never be able to fire the weapon even if its snatched from the officer.Glock series wise, althoug I like it for its simplicity,i feel that the lack of a safety device other then that on the trigger,in the event of a firearm snatch, the officer may be killed by his own weapon.
Then again, what about the use of handguns which feature a magazine disconnector and also has a decocking lever?Feel free to add ur comments
If a police officer can shoot a person 3 or 4 times and the person isn't down, either he's a very lousy shot, or he's not hitting the right places.Originally posted by SpecOps87:As we all know,SPF officers are formerly armed with the Smith & Wesson .38 which is now replaced with the Taraus revolver with a LAD.
Well,as the topic states,do you officers in the street (patrolmen not STAR or SOC) feel that it is sufficient to be armed with a revolver? As there are cases in the past there officers shoot criminals 3-4 times and the criminal is still going strong, not really affected even though he is being shot. And we know that revolvers have an extremely limited magazine capacity of 5-7 rounds.,and that reloading takes a longer time as compared to a Semi-automatic.
In a duty sense, would you prefer to be armed with a revolver or a semi-auto handgun like the Beretta or Glock series of weapons?
in the event of a firearm snatch, the officer may be killed by his own weapon.Hmm...and how often does that happen?
I think they all carry guns now due to terrorism.Originally posted by huaiwei:Or go sign up in London loh.![]()
