NS Dental Subsidy: Go Where for Reasonable Price and Good?

  Hi, I need to do some teeth fillings. Where to go? Recommendations?

  I read on NS.sg (http://iprep.ns.sg/medical-and-dental.html) that:

  1. For NSF, you will get free medical & dental treatment at your NS camp's Medical Centre and NS Regional Dental Centre.

  2. For NSF at Government Dental Clinics / National Dental Centre (NDC) / Private Dental Clinics. Required to pay the full medical expenses first. 85% reimbursement of dental treatment expenses per visit, subject to a maximum of $120 per calendar year. Please remember to ask for invoice/ receipt so as to submit it to the NS clerk for claim submission.
  

   

  3. After ORD, for NSmen, you may only seek urgent dental treatment at SAF Dental Centres for emergency dental conditions that arise during your In-Camp Training such as acute toothache, acute gum swelling and so on.

  The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) is a scheme by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that enables Singapore Citizens from lower- and middle-income households to receive subsidies for medical and dental care at participating General Practitioners (GPs) and dental clinics near their homes.
  
  
  Singapore Citizens who qualify for CHAS will receive an individual blue or orange Health Assist card. Health Assist cardholders will also enjoy subsidised referrals to Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) located at Public Hospitals or National Dental Centre when required.
  
  
  For patients with chronic conditions, CHAS complements the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which allows for Medisave to be used for outpatient treatment (for the same set of chronic conditions) covered under CHAS. Besides enjoying CHAS subsidies for treatment of their chronic conditions, patients can also tap on their Medisave to defray part of the cost of these treatments. The Medisave withdrawal limit is $400 per Medisave account, per year.
  
  
  From 1 January 2014, all Singapore Citizens (regardless of age) who meet the household monthly income per person of $1,800 and below can qualify for CHAS. For instance, a family of four living at the same address with a total gross household monthly income of $7,200 (household monthly income per person is $7,200 ÷ 4 = $1,800) will qualify for CHAS, provided that they are all Singapore Citizens.

  joo seng one how much roughly per filling? cause i live in the west.. unless if alot cheaper not really worth traveling :/ i got like 5 fillings to do..

   

  n saf dental center(kranji) one worth to go anot? i scared they see u nsf n low rank anyhow do for u lol.

  actually your camp dentist not too bad, but not sure they provide fillings.

  If u go camp dental but they don't do fillings how? Can they refer u to outside dental? If refer issit free? Cause I alr cap my 140dollars claim liao. N my family these few years barely getting by

  Welcome to Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)

        

    
  The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) is a scheme by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that provides accessible and affordable medical and dental care to Singapore Citizens.

  Singapore Citizens of all ages are eligible for CHAS if they meet the following criteria: 

   

      • Household monthly income per person of $1,800 and below; OR
      • Annual Value (AV) of residence as reflected on NRIC of $21,000 and below for households with no income

   

  Family members (related by blood, marriage and/or legal adoption) living at the same address, as reflected on their NRICs, will need to apply together on one application form. All the family members’ income will contribute towards the household monthly income per person.

  Members of the public who are on Public Assistance (PA) scheme do not need to apply as they are already eligible for CHAS. 

   

  Household monthly income per person is calculated by taking the total household monthly income divided by the total number of family members living together.

   

     

   

  Application

  You can pick up a CHAS application form at any Public Hospital, Polyclinic, Community Centre and Club (CC) or Community Development Council (CDC). Alternatively, you can download the application form here. Only one application form is required for each household.
  
  Please send the completed and signed application form to P.O. Box 680, Bukit Merah Central Post Office, Singapore 911536, with clear copies of the passports or visit passes for family members who are foreigners. 
  
  Submission of NRIC and birth certificate photocopies for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are no longer required. If you have any family members who are foreigners, we would still require photocopies of their visit pass or passport for verification purpose. You can continue to use the existing form marked "Jan 2014" for your application. The new application forms marked "Apr 2014" reflecting this change in requirement will be available at a later date.
