The
Combat Engineers are an unique breed of professionals who are versatile
and creative. Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, the Engineers
possess both brawn and brains for the daunting challenges that await
them in peace and war. As Combat Engineers, we specialize in Mobility,
Counter Mobility and Survivability operations such as Fortification,
Clearing of Enemy Obstacles and Demolitions.
Mobility
The
Combat Engineers overcome obstacles in the path of our advancing forces
to give them freedom of movement and manoeuvre. Logistic supply lines
are kept open by the combat engineers to enhance the sustainability of
operations.
Counter-mobility
The combat engineers lay minefields, demolish bridges and routes and set up booby-traps to slow down the enemy.
Survivability
To
protect our troops against enemy fire, the combat engineers use their
heavy plants and demolition skills to construct trenches, weapons
emplacements, command posts etc.
Field Engineers
Field
Engineers undertake crucial mobility, counter-mobility and
survivability tasks to support the Army in its operation. Equipped with
highly mechanised and modern equipment, Field Engineers are the ones who
clear obstacles in the paths of our advancing forces to ensure
mobility, construct obstacles in the paths of the enemy forces to
counter their mobility and erect field fortifications to ensure the
survivability of our own forces.
Armoured Engineers
Equipped
with the most advanced machinery, Armoured Engineers require a
significantly shorter time to clear complicated obstacles, ensuring the
armoured forces' intrinsic high mobility and manoeuvrability.
Armoured
Engineers work together as a team to pave the way, removing all
obstacles by means of heavy lifting and dozing. Protected by thick
armour, the Armoured Engineers initial fear by virtue of their size.
Bridging Engineers
Bridging
Engineers provide the transportation means to project combat troops and
vehicles across rivers and water obstacles to engage the enemy.
Bridging
Engineers enhance the mobility of our forces by their specialised
skills in operating state-of-the art equipment in the form of float
bridges, rafts and assault boats. Bridging Engineers are highly skilled
in both land and water operations.
CBRE Engineers
The
CBRE Engineers comprises of the Chemical Defence (CD) Engineers and the
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Engineers. They are equipped with
state-of-the-art equipment to respond to any Chemical, Biological,
Radiological and Explosives (CBRE) threats. Visioned to be a world class
operationally – ready and technologically advanced CBRE Force, they
provide specialist CBRE advice and support throughout the spectrum of
operations in peace and war.
