Hi guys. I need some advise on my situation over here. I am a OOC personnel for 2 times. Encountered shin pain whenever any strenous activity starts and end. Bone scan was done in the early year and found that there's black patches on my shin and specialist told me can recover in time for my recourse. But after my recourse ( and I fail course for some absurd reason), the pain is really intolerable. I've been enduring just for the course. So I went back to the specialist and see, he arrange another bone scan coming next month and in the meantime, he wrote a excuse 6mths RMJ/IPPT/Strenenous acitivities for me. But the MO only endorse a 3month duration only. Is my memo given by the specialist not strong enough?? I've been seeing the MO for my leg injury since Feb'12 till now.
Thanks!
Hi eac,
I read about it already. But I dont understand why it doesn't warrants me a downgrade actually.. I don't really want to make the injury worst for the rest of my NS and life. Is there any ways to solve it ?? My pes is B1L1 by the way.
Nowadays, shin splints do not warrant a permanent PES downgrade since this condition is recoverable.
Therefore, it is perfectly normal for a MO to give you Att B (Fit for Light Duties) with the necessary excuses for >84 days. When the medical status is due expiry, It is then up for review renewal/ extension, subject to the latest hospital specialist memo.
Not even a temporary PES downgrade?? Because as an OOC, I'm obliged to help out to do things that requires to move around more & long distances. The Camp MO did not give me Att B but only gave me what the specialist wrote.
Felt so lost in the system...
Yes, please read your Medical Certificate (MC).
Excuse Running/ Marching/ Jumping (RMJ)/ IPPT/ Any Strenuous Activities = Att B (Fit for Light Duties).
fit for light duties = saikang warrior
Etymology: < Hokkein or Teochew sai, 'fecal matter' + kang, 'work'. The term seems to originate from military (conscription) colloquialism in Singapore.
1. A person who does an undesirable job (either out of one’s good
will or has been coerced into doing so) in the background not for one’s
benefit but for the benefit of others.
2. Used in the army to refer to people of the lower ranks who are
forced to do unpleasant jobs such as carrying heavy things for their
superiors.
Hi Rednano,
Yes I know OOC = saikang king liao not warrior... Can I ask that if my upcoming bone scan still shows the same condition as before my previous scan result. Is it possible to warrant at least a temporary downgrade? Provided I need to ask my specialist to write a very strong worded memo though... I left 1 more year in the NS and planning to sign on with a career in the Home Team thus I feel I need the time to recover my shin and strengthen it to prepare myself when I finish serving army.
Thanks for your help!
