Hi, I'm a NSF clerk in one of the FCCs. Basically I shall give some information on each programme (IPPT / IPT / RT).
More details @ www.mindef.gov.sg/nsmen
Non-ICT IPPT & RT
You'll need to complete within the 9-month window period for your Non-ICT IPPT, of which if you fail you need to book for the 20 sessions of Remedial Training of which the 8th, 14th and 20th session are the RT-IPPT. If you pass your 8th session of your RT-IPPT, you do not need to continue the rest of the trainings unless you need to aim for a partial re-test which only applies if you fail 1 of the static station only. If you fail 2.4km only, you will have to carry on with the training and no partial rest. But of course, when you take your partial re-test and if you passed, you won't be getting any incentive awards. Also, you can choose to take all of them during the IPPT period. Usually the first session of RT, NSmen are encouraged to take blue colour tags (which is the running and static as you can train up all the stations prior to your 8th session test).
Note : If you want to take up RT-IPPT earlier before the 8th session you must make sure that you will pass the IPPT. Thus, speak to the OC or any superiors in the FCC office for more details. You are not allowed to do so during the 1st session of RT.
IPT (IPPT Preparatory Training)
NSmen who have difficulty passing their IPPT they can also opt for IPT program but in much shorter pace. Of course, it's also the 9 months window period. There will be 10 sessions with the first session, its IPPT test followed by the last one.
How it works?
When you take your IPPT first session, you will need achieve at its best. This will determine which catergory will you belong to when you go for your 2nd session onwards. That's why you must take your height and weight so that you can view your IPT / BMI target in your NS portal @ www.NS.sg in few days time. Once you have achieve your IPT BMI target band, you can exit the system early.
Note:
If you wish to apply for extension (either unable to complete in time or lack of period sessions) for your RT/ IPT. You can only do so in any of the FCCs, but the extension is only applicable to 1 month limit.

Anyway I can extend my RT for a second month?
Due to work commitments, I didn't manage to finish in the first 3 months. It didn't help that the first 2 weeks of my extended month was my ICT, and I failed my 2.4km run by 37 seconds

If you need to extend your RT window for 2nd month you are required to speak to your unit regarding this issue. FCC can only allow you to extend for a month. If you have extended before, you can either speak to the superiors in FCC and/or your unit Superiors.
But a question : when is your window closing?
3rd October, but due to work commitments, I could only afford one day a week previously for RT.
After October I can afford 2~3 days a week.
So I should contact the FCC's OC?

Thanks :)
Adding more Information on IPT
For those IPT NSmen who is in the 2nd session of IPT training they're to do the Health Fitness Assessment Program (as known as Body Age) But they are to attend the first IPT-IPPT in order to undergo this program.
What's the purpose of this program?
Basically in this program its to determine your heart endurance test, the bicep strength level as well as how fit can you be, there will be few test you will undergo to using a machine.
This Health fitness assesment is only applicable to those red/blue and yellow tag holders only.
They made it so complicated nowadays.
They should make it as,you must pass your IPPT before your birthday. Else RT every saturday or sunday until u passed.
This is so confusing.
Thanks eac for editing some parts of the earlier post.
Updates to any NSmen taking IPPT / RT / IPT
There will be a new In-processing timings w.e.f 6th October 2012 for Saturdays only.
IPPT : 4:30pm
RT : 5:00pm
IPT : 5:30pm
No other changes in terms of training / test etc. But a reminder still not to be late if can :)
