SCS Crossover to OCS: How to Be Top 1% Cream of Crop? How?

Hi,
I got posted to armour infantry and will be undergoing the spec leadership course. Any suggestions on how to crossover to being a OCT? It's my first week in ATI! Oh and my wing commander said only two specs managed to crossover... Since year 2005. OMG.
Need a few suggestions on working towards it. Thanks!

damn hard damn hard...they need more specs than officers now. too many officers around in SAF.

Are you serious?? But there's got to be a possibility right? I mean SAF also need a good officer.. Just like how commandos needa crossover from men to scs, den to ocs. The best specs can be better than officers.

be sure to ace every single damn tests
ippt gold
marksman champion
be very garang gung-ho
volunteer for every single damn thing, including all night duties.
volunteer for all kinds of in-charge (IC) appointments.

I would rather OOC.
If you try hard and there are no OCS vacancies, you will be selected as a spec in a garang and siong unit.

Hmm any examples to show from AI vocation? Securing a silver bayonet will be sufficient to become a oct?

You just have expressed your wish to your superior and see whether they can arrange for you.
Or else stay as a specialist and finish your NS duties early.
Not big deal being a officer.

Hard, and if not, close to impossible.
Easiest way to be officer is to sign on.

Even that also not guaranteed because if silver bayonet can, every batch will have at least 1 liao and your OC told u since 05 only 2? so what you think? Sign on lah, if you wanna be a officer so badly.

But even if I sign on it wouldn't guarantee that I will go to the officers training wing? Hmm and how long do I have to extend my ORD for it?

yeah lor. the most siong vocation would be a armor formation spec.

There's no guarantee rule....that's why the top 1% is really the best, its not a formula. This is not your singapore govt school system.
You need to be excellent
- Physical performance (IPPT Gold)
- be smart; but not a smart aleck
-be helpful to others and show leadership skill; but not hypocrite
-be intelligent in your training exercises and show that you're thinking/can execute plans, without being bossy to your mates and smart aleck....
- be a persuasive leader that can win hearts and minds + the physical ability + the mental aptitute (not a blur/stupid/can't remember things) guy...

Commandos have their own version of BMT (mono intake) because of very special skills and mental aptitute they need to develop....from there the best become specialist/officers - only if they are already the best commandos from their basic commando training.

Anyway, posting after SCS...or anywhere - is based on SAF's manpower requirement.
They post you according to which unit needs men....totally random as long you fulfil requirements.
Some batches, just nice all the guards unit ORD - whole batch become guardsmen; except a few needed to fill other units. Other batches, entire batch become BMT instructors....because just nice ORD lor..
