Hi guys, I'm a BMTC recruit about to POP in about 4 weeks. I have knee pains that lasted over a month ago, that hurts when I climb stairs, sit/stand, running, walking with heavy loads etc. I went to see a specialist and was told I have patellofemoral pain syndrome, as well as rotator cuff impingement in my shoulder. I was told that I should undergo physiotherapy for treatment. Passed the request for physiotherapy form to the MO along with my MC. Am excused from running, jumping and Route march, as these will worsen my condition. The physiotherapy centre at Tekong didn't allow me to get physiotherapy until I POP, since it will take too long to get an appointment.
What will happen to me now? Will I get posted to a combat or non-combat vocation? If I get posted to a combat vocation, is it possible for me to call CMPB to appeal, at least temporarily until my knee heals? I don't want to risk getting my knee injured more, since I already feel a dull pain in my knee every moment of the day now. Is there anyway for me to fix it quickly as well?
I remember some1 in the platoon had broke his ankle. And he was posted to command school. The SGT carried his belonging on posting day for him. LOL!
Ask the specialist to give you an MC and memo. The memo for insurance, SAF, university medical checkup and etc..
Hmm, but if I am posted to a combat vocation (which is nearly 100%, since I'm still Pes B1), what am I going to do there? Its not as if my injury would heal with me constantly straining it, but if I get excused from the training, it may take months for my treatment to finally take effect.
That said, if I do get posted to combat, can I call CMPB to clarify about my situation?
