Sign On RSN Navy: I'm Exempted NS (ROD), Still Can Or Not?

  Hello everyone, just wanna get some ideas on signing on for RSN as Naval Warfare system Experts cos i only got my Dip.

   

  I'm 26 now... being a navy its my dream since i was young, although got exempted from NS but i still wanna try to achieve it. Reason is i really love working by the sea,working in uniforms and travelling. Thats why i've been working in shipyards all these years. But all my friends and colleagues told me that its a waste of time and they don't really pay as good as last time. 

   

  Please share your thoughts so i can really decide wherther to drop my current career and joining in navy or just forget it~ thanks

  Exempted? For medical reasons or what? If it's for medical reasons forget it.

  think abt it TS, if SAF do not want you even for NS, do u think they will accept u as regular?

  It's too late for you to join it now, You're 26 and exempted from NS, I doubt they will let you in.

  umm,I'm exempted because was a SPR then converted to Citizenship(dun wanna say abt it because scared got negative comment) but really do interested in signing on for Navy.

  You're 26 now, you were a PR before and they exempted you from NS.

  We have 26 year old guys serving NS.

  I don't think you qualify... for many reasons.

  And a primary reason is a new citizen, may have security clearance concerns....

  I'm sorry, maybe your children next time can try....

  Hi TS,

  No harm calling up Navy Recruitment Centre to give it a try. I would like to correct a misconception from one of the earlier posters, it IS possible  to be considered even at age 26.

  But be mentally prepared you will have to go through Basic Military Training with other trainees several years younger than you.
