if tat's how the title of a prev thread got edited, I'll be sad..
Last week was Total Defence Week... NEXUS/ MINDEF spent so much effort onto NE, static display and so on, just to spread a message.
SAF is here as deterrence, to fight a war... WWII was a good reminder... Even late Dr GKS made mention of it.
The aid duty is because we received help from others back in our nation building era, it's now time to pay back to help others as we've the means to do so today...
Never forget the past as we look forward...
So you would rather our country be involved in a war? Than not to do anything? Really?
Sun Tzu said: The art of war is of vital importance to the State.
It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin.
Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.

I dun wish to mean this...
An Army is there for deterence... Not for show, no need to show anyone anything..
Training is there for a reason...
Yes, for our own country's defence, and deterrence against others. Not get into a war for some other country's sake.
Our 2 years spent in there is to play masak-masak and be lobo kings,etc...nothing else.

Don't display out your strength to others, they will take you for granted.
The shows are for display of military capabilities to others.
Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.
Thus the highest form of generalship is to balk the enemy's plans; the next best is to prevent the junction of the enemy's forces; the next in order is to attack the enemy's army in the field; and the worst policy of all is to besiege walled cities.
One look the enemy see also scared, don't dare to attack, that is supreme excellence.
supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.

The UN aid elsewhere is macham pay back to those spearheading nations for their help back in the 1970s
So now the title is changed....
Dun start using SAF official lines to cover what was passed as a remark.
Official lines are meaningless if the people dun even understand it.
Dun go through motion
