Downgrade PES @MMI: Does SAF Have Access to SPF Records? No.

Hi guys. got a question here. does downpes procedures involve doing a background check on u? meaning to say check if u got any police records or will they go n verify if what u say to them is true?.. Thing is, recently i was asked by an M.O during a recent review(for a mental condition) if i was ever involved in police cases etc, i didnt manage to declare. however this was so as my case was let off with a stern warning and i nvr got charged or whatsoever. i/o said i could choose not to declare as i dont have a criminal record. i do know that if they wanted to, they will be able to know that i have this police record, but will they actually go and check it? will need serious advice on this, M.Os on this board please help. thank you.

I believe your IO make it too simply in answering no need to declare.

It actually depends on the question pose.

If ask, have you ever been charge in court of law : the answer is no

But if the question is have you ever been arrested : the answer could be YES.

But as it was let off with a police warning only, the answer could be a Yes and No... depends where and by whom the question is ask.

By the way, yours police warning is not consider a record lah

so issit actually a grey area? cos i heard from sumwhere that these 'hidden' files only police will have it, or issit across the entire govt software? and will the M.O really go n verify it? or issit just finding out more information to support my case?

Actually it is good for you to declare if you have some discipline issues.

My friend was a gangster, who got into trouble several times with the law, before NS. The SAF MO actually took note of it and he was downgraded because of certain mental disorder.

The police kept record of everything but the SAF MO will not vertify. They can downgrade you based on medical observation and tests.
